I was at this game and what a treat this ceremony was. Watching them raise #5 then pause and bring down #8 so they could go up together was a special moment. The Blues meant to much to Bobby and it puts a smile on my face every time I go to the game and see his number up there knowing that he’s next to his brother cemented in Blues history.
I am SO thankful the Blues won a Cup while Bobby was alive.
I watched it live on TV and I won’t lie, I got pretty choked up when they did that with the banners. I went to a game when he was there doing a book signing and I still regret not getting one. I didn’t quite have the extra money at the time, but I wish that would have been one time I let my impulse override my good sense.
Who’s cutting onions.
Serious question. If there ever is a player who earns his number retired, and his number is 6 or 7, do the Blues split up 5 & 8? Personally, I wouldn’t. They belong together.
In case anyone didn’t notice, they’re playing the theme from Band of Brothers.
