Leave it to Lou to make a "move for the future' at the most expensive time of the year. SMH…If it's about the future, keep Raty and your 1st round pick. What kind of shape will The Isles be in when this GM made just one 1st round pick in his 5 year tenure because he traded the other 4 away.
The thing that people don't project is, goals aren't scored in a vacuum and sometimes 'system' can hinder your potential. It's all about how you mesh together with your linemates, and I think Beauvillier would thrive in a more uptempo style of play opposed to the Islanders defense first, second and last mentality. You just can't deposit his points from one team to the other and make it stick.

I’ll clear this up for ya’ll. When Rutherford singed Miller $8m x 7yr, it sealed Horvat’s fate. Reason why Rutherford chose NYI because 1st rd is much much higher than BOS, NJD, DAL, which will be around No.30. You can debate to ya’ll blue in the face, Raty vs. Lysell, or some other prospects, it’s an unknown. No.13/14/15/16 vs No.30/31/32 is a known fact. And that’s what Rutherford went for, the future pick. If NYI fall even further < 12, then the subsequent season will be even worse and unprotected high lottery pick.
Horvat will be an instant regret at 1C money. That's not hating just fact.
The guy knocking the JT signing is way off imo. He's produced on a much bigger sample size (3) years and despite what we hear he's still basically a ppg 30 goal guy, 1 run away from pacing back to last season.
