Check on your long-suffering Flyers fans, it's been a hard 10 years at least.
While I thought they would be in the Bedard race, Torts has gotten extra wins off of them. However, I don't think they're good enough for the playoffs.
Definitely a surprise team this year however in no-man's-land definitely one of the hardest-working teams in the NHL however where is that going to get them they don't have the talent level available except maybe in goal to make any run at the playoffs

I think Ersson played so well, and Sands hasn't, that Ersson was given Lehigh Valley to get more starts and maybe have ready for next year. If Fedotov is ever able to leave Russia, I think he'll need time in the AHL to learn that ice size and just being not in Russia during wartime/sanctions.
I am very happy to see the team has bought into the Torts system because they really are playing much better. Risto is dangerously close to being a non-pylon, and that's wild.
It will break my heart if Konecny or Laughton are let go.
And if Fletcher buys at the deadline I'm going to punch a baby.
Just fire Chuck Fletcher and problems are solved.
I’m still not a fan of our GM. Fletcher has done some things that needed to be done but he brought in some weird pieces and some really bad pieces. I will always say as long as Homer and Clarke are involved they won’t try to do anything but bring back the bullies days

I think Sandstrom was kept up due to waiver rules. So they sent Ersson down and he gets to play a lot more at LV
I think the whole story is not told with this team when you consider they have $20m in LTIR this year. Putting Couturier, Atkinson in this lineup would make a difference. That said, they needed to see all these young players, and they are getting a chance to play. I never have a problem with winning. Especially with young players. We had a decade of mediocrity and that core has been cleaned out, thankfully.
If they did a little better in OT, they would be just a few points out of a playoff spot.
Tortorella has gotten water from the stone, he has done a wonderful job.
It is the Roaring 20’s in Philly. Hopefully the Flyers can get back to significance and complete the 5 for 5 circle soon.
The Flyers mgmt has made it know they have no plan to compete or draft high end talent now or the next decade. A bubble team that is doomed to get slapped around by teams like NJ for a long time.

torts is getting us out of a good draft position. our gm dosent know how to draft anyway. its lose – lose.
Can’t remember the vid now, but I did post on one vid before the season saying I believed the Flyers would be better then expected simply cause of the Tortz effect and hire plus a roster that could play better then last year showed imo. About the only thing I got right in my predictions lol but cool to see this for the Flyers. Gives a bit of hope for the future barring a front office blunder killing it all. A tough spot no doubt being in the middle, but definitely great seeing the Torts-building in progress. Looking forward to the future with the Flyers.

It's weird to see so many teams/fanbases dragged into rebuilds kicking and screaming. Meanwhile the Flyers FO refuses to do it despite a large chunk of their fans begging for it.
Flayers fans want a CUP. Competing for the final playoff spot is a joke. The Eagles and Phillies show how bad the Flyers mgmt is.

As a LONG time Flyers fan, I’ve seen this scenario play out before. Maybe this will be the one that’s different.
This team needs a couple of things in my eyes. 1. Management that cares about hockey. 2. FIRE FLETCHER. 3. Total teardown and rebuild.
As a Flyers fan the management is having a rough time. With the Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers all winning in their respective sport its never a good thing to be the worst team in the city… let alone Philadelphia. Although I wanted them to take for Bedard, I am enjoying their play as of late.

Tortorella is the type of coach that makes you fear for your job, that's why he's good.
i really like how tippett has been playing, what we got from florida now I really like. I honestly believe we won the giroux trade because the panthers didn't win anything and giroux is gone. The flyers are in a weird spot right now, not good enough to be a playoff threat, and not bad enough for bedard. We're just mediocre. I think we are winning too much and we need to lay down, because I truly believe bedard is the player that turns this franchise around. A solid offseason in my opinion is getting bedard, and the firing of chuck fletcher as he has completely destroyed this team.
The reason JVR being available is different is he becomes UFA after this season no longer on the multi year deal and flyers are willing to retain a large chunk so he becomes a reasonably priced rental instead of an anchor contract.
As for ersson being sent down sandstrom would need to clear waivers where ersson does not it was a "roster move" they don't want to give sandstrom away.
Hayes may also be on the move torts doesn't seem to like him and hes having a strong season but his contract situation wont make it easy.
As for the direction i think they want to go for playoffs asap but if you got ellis couturier and atkinson all on LTIR and donezo its going to be hard but this off season they should have some cap space to potentially target a big name that can help score some goals and if couturier or atkinson can come back that would help a lot.
One thing I find interesting 🤔…things must be going ok since Tortorella's Press Conferences haven't generated the number of sound bites that his time in Columbus produced despite being in a City known for critical fandom and media….it's been downright quite on the front …Mount Tortorella hasn't really erupted so far.

They are not making the playoffs this year. They are not making them next year either. John Tortorella has gotten them way more wins than they deserve, but he is not a Comcast guy and this organization has serious management issues.
