You put Marino on Buffalo they would have beat the Giants…Mel Kiper is all hot air ..Put Elway in Miami and Marino in Denver …Marino would have multiple rings.
Wow its totally Marino… Elway was great and all but got his rings when all he had to do was hand off the ball to Terrell Davis and throw play action that Shanahan directed. From day one to the end, Marino was the man in Miami (and I'm not a Marino fan at all)
Marino every time. The myth of Elway dragging mediocre at best Bronco teams to the SB should be put to rest. He's winning 4th quarter comeback games 20-17. Marino is winning them 34-28. Denver had very very good defenses. Many games that Denver should have won outright but couldn't score for shit until late.
That is a tough one. Let's see—Elway played good enough to help his team win a total of 7 championship games (5 Conference and 2 S.B.'s) while marino played good enough to help his team win only 1 championship game ('84 Conf. Champ.). Big big advantage Elway. They each stunk it up in 3 championship game losses also.
Dan Marino > John Elway. Elway always had decent defenses, Marino never did…also the only reason Elway won 2 Super Bowls is because of Terrell Davis & Shannon Sharpe
Today is the start of 2021 and to this day no QB has ever had the perfect formula for success that Dan Marino had in '83. Drafted by a S.B. team, they were No.1 in Least Points Allowed, and his backs had OVER 2,000 yds. rushing. He had the best coach in the league and Marino himself was in his prime years ('83 thru '87). Why not 3 straight S.B.'s.
And if you rather have elway let's put down Marino if you rather have Dan let's put down elway .lol they're both great but I'd take elway..I just believe elway did more with decent teams .not great 1s .but Marino was great
Elway – Marino is a great comparison, fair to both of them. I hate when talking heads compare Marino far inferior players; back in the day it was Namath, nowadays it's Rivers. Philip Rivers, for crying out loud.
All these people hanging on Marino's jock. Marino played is a wide open offense. He got to throw, throw and throw some more. It wasn't Sammy Winder 1st and 2nd down (3.3 career yards per carry) and then, "Hey John, go win it with 2 mins left." Marino had a Great O-line. Good wide receivers and favorable weather year round. Gets to 1 super bowl. Elway was a far better talent (Bill Walsh tried to trade Montana for him). He dragged those 86, 87 and 89 teams to the super bowl.
If Marino had gone to Pittsburgh, he might have added years to Chuck Noll's tenure like he did with Don Shula in Miami. With Bradshaw on the shelf for most of 83, Marino might have eventually jumped Cliff Stoudt and or Mark Malone. Ironically, David Woodley ended up in Pittsburgh after Marino usurped him in Miami.
Elway easily. Marino had a gorgeous throw but he choked in the playoffs and just couldnt scramble like Elway could. Elway is the best overall QB of all time.
Well, what if Marino went to Denver and Elway went to Miami. Do you really think the outcome would have been the same? Mel Kiper Jr. Is one of the dumbest draft annalist in the NFL. I hate ranking these quarterbacks like this because they were both the greatest of their era. The NFL is a team sport, defense has just as much of an impact as the offense. You could put up 40 points, but it means nothing if the other team puts up 41. I would love to see the numbers they would put up in the modern NFL. I guarantee they would have had bigger numbers and fewer team injuries per season.
I'd take Dan, They Both had two of the Strongest Arms in NFL history, Marino was far more accurate and threw a prettier more catchable ball. Marino did more with absolutely no help in Miami, put Marino on The Bronco's they might win more than two rings with all the talent on Denver. Put him on Buffalo they are least win two of those 4 Superbowls!
I’d take Marino over ANY other QB in a half a second!! Won’t think twice. It’s the most foolish thing to say that u shouldn’t pick him bc he never won a SB. Football isn’t golf, it’s a sport team, and Marino never had one..
Elway wasn't in Marino's zip code no won was your putting in the team the Broncos and the bills were better teams than the dolphins you.are acting like the bills and the Broncos are better than the dolphins because they were better than Marino which is complete garbage they were better teams but elway and Kelly were not better than Marino the stats prove it.

Marino by a mile. Elway 300td's 223 int's…shut the hell up Kiper
Marino all the way.
Glad Miami has a good nba team to replace the dolphins
I still say Marino is the most gifted QB ever.

The biggest mistake in Steelers history. Marino was there for the taking. Is still bothers me today
Marino had a fantastic junior year. His senior year stats weren't quite as good and there were bogus drug rumors.

83 or 84 Dans mind is gone he needs to ride off into the sunset its been a good run

The 1983 NFL Draft was so good, that the 1982 and 1984 NFL Draft's sucked!
i hate the steelers

Elway…he run and pass marino was pretty good but just a bag qb.

Elway better. But the Colts had the number 1 pick, but Elway said he would only play in the West. So Id take Dan Marino cause he’s play.
What's a ruggle?
Elway easily. Marino had a gorgeous throw but he choked in the playoffs and just couldnt scramble like Elway could. Elway is the best overall QB of all time.
You seem to forget Dan Marino was the MVP of the Senior Bowl and the Hula Bowl after a poor senior season at Pitt

Marino is the greatest pure passer ever. I’d take him over Elway all day every day.

Damn you can really argue either i think. Most would pick Elway but if i get to build the team from scratch im starting with Marino…i think?
I’d take Marino over ANY other QB in a half a second!!
Won’t think twice.
It’s the most foolish thing to say that u shouldn’t pick him bc he never won a SB.
Football isn’t golf, it’s a sport team, and Marino never had one..
If your answer isn't Marino, you answered wrong.
Marino should have come out after his Junior Year
It is Elway and it is not close.
No QB's in that era even came close to keeping up with Marino.

Who in the hell is Mel Kiper.
