Don’t even bother watching the skills competition on YouTube if you don’t have ad blocker. Can’t go a full minute without 2 non-skip ads and if you fast forward at all same thing
I had a dream we were the 7 th seed, just ahead of Washington. I also dreamt about my toilet tank (not kidding!) so we’re either making the playoffs or we’re tanking.
I totally understand why the NHL is the smallest of the major professional sports after seeing clips from last night. There’s not one bit of personality.
I keep seeing this idea that we need a game breaking player(ideally a center) to be a cup contender but isn’t that just to simple of an answer? Best player in the leauge hasn’t really come close to the cup finals, the maple leaves are hilarious to watch in the post season, and tampa bay won a cup without their captain. I’d much rather focus on having an elite top six and outcoaching, out working teams in the playoffs rather than tanking for 18,000 years to maybe find talent that develops into “superstardom”. Its just a losers mindset.
Damn really thought I’d see Zadinas name after seeing a 6-2 win for the Griffins. Soderblom, Johansson and Hanas got on the board at least

You can tell how everyone involved with whatever that All-Star production was last night has never watched or played the sport. They literally went, you know what will help these low league ratings? Let’s have the players play **GOLF**.

Is anyone kind of curious to see what the Red Wings would look like without players like Larkin, Bertuzzi and Hronek if we were to get really good trade packages to trade them this trade deadline?
Not only did i know the all star skills stuff was happening last night, but i also genuinely forgot to even watch or set the DVR.
It makes me sad, really. If we’re not even top of mind for it, how are the people the NHL wants to attract to the game supposed to be hyped up?
Whole there are problems with segments of the sport, just like with most other sports, it’s such a great “on-ice” product. The game is genuinely fascinating to watch and can be for so many. But the NHL just can’t fucking figure out how to not trip over itself left and right.
Just stop fucking overthinking it and make hockey available and fun for people to watch. Not gimmicks, not money grabs, not flash-pan bullshit. Just show people the fucking game and make it easy to get to. What the league does these days is such a disgrace and i can’t bring myself to actually watch the all star game(s) itself.
Sorry for the rant. It’s just sad to see the game so hacked up, year after year after year.

The All Star break is brutal I couldn’t bear having that break and the Olympic Break.
It’s shitty that the results are leaked before the rebroadcast. It’s not practical to stay up to watch the early morning games.
I suppose if the League ever goes I’ll have to take time off work and adjust my sleep schedule.
I don’t think the reverse retros are bad jerseys, but seeing all the awesome throwback jerseys makes me want to the Wings play a game in one of their old jerseys. Loved both winter classic jerseys they wore
