  1. Definitely hot and cold.
They got spanked in Buffalo by the Canes in the reverse retros on National Television. Wasn’t a fan of that. Tuch is my favorite player in the league.

  2. You know who needs more credit? Don Granato.

The Sabres could have done like Florida or Vancouver and hired some Same Old Retread, but instead Adams took a chance on an unknown and there is no question it's been successful. If both the youngsters and the vets are buying in, you're selling something worthwhile.

  3. Cautious optimism is the name of the game. Just gonna enjoy this the best I can and look forward to the future

  4. I think the Sabres season is already a success (I'm a biased homer). This year they identified who their core players are and they have so much promise. I'd love to get Dahlin, Cozens, and Power all locked up this summer. I want them to get in so bad, but even if they fall short I'm very excited for this teams future. Health of the star players is going to decide if they make the playoffs or not.

  5. Even more impressive about Dylan Cozens year is that he's producing on the youngest line in the Nhl and they've been together almost the entire season. Also if at the end of this season the sabres are still competing for a playoff spot this year is a huge success they've got some real talent in their prospect pool that'll begin to fill out the bottom 2 lines in the next couple years

  6. This all sounds reasonable. Only one thing I want to add cuz it'll be long and verbose by itself anyway –

Girgensons –> yeah we've had Gil Perrault (I remember trick-or-treating his house just up the street as a kid, and playing w/ his son Mark), Danny Briere, Chris Drury, Mogilny, Lafontaine, The Dominator, etc….we've had a ton of talent come through here over the years, for sure. But i love my hard-nosed, puck-hungry guys. Mike Peca is still one of my favorites all-time, because he was absolutely fearless and played like he weighed 50lbs more than he actually did (that's around 22KG for you Canuckians!). Mike Grier…..THAT dude, especially in the playoffs, there was NOBODY hungrier, there was NOBODY beating him into the corners for pucks. He was HARD.

Girgensons is a lot of those same things. Plus we drafted him and he's suffered through so much yet stayed here, was loyal to the franchise way more than he had to be or even would have been expected of him. He still came to work every single day while the franchise around him was falling apart. Come to find out (I only found out about a month ago but my mind was already made up and this is just icing on the cake), he was also a Sabres fan as a kid, in Latvia.

The ONLY thing we can do with him is to keep him here until he retires, and make sure he gets at least 1 good, long stretch of Stanley Cup playoffs before he's too old, hopefully get his name on the Cup but definitely keep him around and bring him back when we do win it, something I believe this group is destined to accomplish cuz they're just too good and things are just set up too well for at least the next 5 years

So yeah I'll be more than just livid if we somehow let him get away, cuz he's still a solid 4th liner for us and still a solid player and alternate captain. I love his game and it's good karma to keep him around for as long as he can play.

    Let's Go Buffalo!!

  7. Sabres should carry the 3 goaltenders. Someone is bound to get hurt either in B-Lo or Rochester from time to time the rest of the way, and Anderson will probably retire at the end of the year. The tandem of Comrie and UPL will be solid next year.

  8. Skinner has been great and fiesty after they got rid of Eichel. Skinner really believes in himself and will deliver his best point total ever this season!

  9. Biting my nails at the prospect of them making the playoffs – but even if they don’t, we are all so energized and hopefully by what we have seen this year. My favorite thing from this year is the steps Dylan Cozens has made. Go 24!

  10. TNT has been fantastic but really fell off the last month. Maybe he's been injured the whole time or something but hes looked off. I'd give MVP to Dahlin for the consistency

  11. Gotta step up our defensive structure if we want to make the playoffs we play too loose and they always follow the puck instead of the man. The puck can get passed faster then you can think stick with a man and see less goals go in.

  12. Definitely won't make the playoffs again, thanks to that 8-game losing streak. Terry Pegula's presence is absolutely not helping. After all, they've never made the playoffs while he's been their owner.

  13. The hurricanes game was just a typical home game they've been having after a long road trip. I think they'll bounce back after the all-star break but they need to start winning at home more often. Maybe wear the black uniforms more often since they always score 6 goals when they do score in those uniforms

  14. Amazing that Skinner shows up when people want to play with him. When coaches don't bury him or bench him to appease a cry baby star, he shows up

  15. It's sad and amazing that THG uses markers, a board, and passion to put out better content than people with limitless budgets.

+1000 for that work ethic. 💪

  16. Buffalo is super fun to watch.
    Tuch is a gangster.
Skinner is like a ring leader now.
Thompson is literally winning me a fantasy league. He is a stud.
Dahlin (this was recorded earlier) gets his day at the all star game. He is gonna be as good or better than Hedman.
Lots of really good pieces on this team.
Wildcard is that crazy named Finn in nets. If he turns out to be a sneaky find these guys are gonna be a force for the next decade.
    Good for them.
