The Reasoning Behind The Arizona Coyotes' Terrible 2018 Schedule

The NHL says they take care in creating a schedule for every team, but by the looks of the Arizona Coyotes 2017/2018 schedule, it doesn’t seem to be the case….or maybe there’s something else that goes into the whole thought process.
That’s what this video looks at, those other possibilities that may have lead to one of the worst NHL schedules of all time.

  1. Idk man it makes sense but at the same time I’m not sold that this is why it’s the way it is. Could you do a follow up maybe showing trends year to year? Btw though awesome channel

  2. More proof that the league is 'pushed' in certain ways for money… bottom line…

I mean be mad all you want, you should do the same. It's a business, an entertainment business after all.

  3. Glad to see the regular Quebec City comments. I'm happy to see them because I'll know they'll never get what they want. It's not gonna happen, especially not with the Coyotes. Hell, the Canes have worse attendance than us and they're actually in your conference

  4. Look at the teams they played on the road. The NHL gave them east coast road trips early in the season with back to back games to keep them from traveling back and forth across the country. In one road trip they played NYI, NYR, NJD, and PHI. It’s better to play them all at once then fly back and forth.

  5. Winnipeg had i think 31 games in 60 days last year around November/Decemeber. I dont think they had a practice during that strecth… and playing and traveling too much makes the team more susceptible to injuries

  6. I can make it real easy for the coyotes and sell the team to Seattle, Milwaukee, Quebec, Hartford, Or maybe Portland ?

  7. This is why I fucking hate vegas, the nhl abandons a team with a fanbase to put a team into a city that isnt a hockey city

  8. As an Arizona native and former season ticket holder for the coyotes I can attest for the snowbirds NEVER factoring in. It’s so stupid the nhl banks on that shit. That it’s frustrating

  9. I also really love that all these pieces of shit in Canadian media give excuse after excuse for the senators not being able to sell out their
Arena because their “poor team” is 30 minutes out of the city.

Bitch it takes me nearly 3 fucking hours in traffic to get to a coyotes game due to traffic.

But yeah, it’s ok for Ottawa.

  10. I forget weather is a factor in making the schedule. No wonder some teams come to Anaheim the same months as previous seasons.

  11. This is my second video i have watched from you. An intelligent observation. Send this franchise to Seattle

  12. The NHL is trying form a rivalry between the Coyotes and the Golden Knights. How many times did they play one another at the start of the year?

  13. There were two situations where the yotes had to be the bad guys too. They played las Vegas in their home opener right after the tragedy in October. They also were the ones who played Vancouver in the sedins last home game ever.

  14. Actually published in the NHL's letters that the Toronto maple leafs had the worst schedule of this year. And last. Arizona was second. Also you sound like cgp grey

  15. The NHL doesn't make the schedule. The teams organize them and submit them to the league for approval.

  16. That or the relocation rumors are true. No one will go to their games if they are losing.

  17. just move them to Quebec City where they'll actually make money and be done with it. time for the NHL to admit defeat

  18. Look at teams who travel most, not sure but i think the jets do now wheb the wings used to which is why they moved conference.

  19. Their worst attendances have usually been october and november, so it's no secret why they're trying to play less home games prior to xmas. It was actually brought up by the Coyotes fans to then owner Anthony Leblanc to play more home games later in the season. The NHL is doing their hardest to save this franchise. Despite all the efforts, Coyotes still have very weak attendances, weak tv ratings, and weak revenues. No wonder why their futur in AZ will always be questioned.

  20. I actually kind of want the Coyotes to stay in Arizona because I live in in New Mexico and it looks they are a great way for me to go to NHL games since I moved to New Mexico last year (just have to take a few hours drive from Albuquerque to Phoenix!), And the tickets to their games are so much cheaper!

It seems like most of the Fellow Hockey Fans I’ve met in here in the Desert Southwest are people who used to live up north where hockey is popular. (I used to live by Chicago and I became a Blackhawks fan (and way back when they weren’t that great and popular in the mid-2000s)
