    DAE ever think about how smart the Parise & Suter buyouts were from the perspective of Bill Guerin and his career?

    Having done it, he now has this four year window that we’re about half way through where no one is really expecting too much from the Wild. How many GMs would like to start their career with a 4-5 year sort of training-wheels period? He bought himself a lot of time to get things the way he’d like them to before he’s going to face harsh scrutiny.

    Compare that to Chuck Fletcher who signed Parise/Suter pretty early on which forced him to sort of ride and die with the Koivu/Suter/Parise/Granlund/Coyle/Zucker/ Spurgeon/Brodin/Dumba core.
