200 IQ move is to vote for the other guy, gives him less power in negotiations.

I’m surprised to see Fantilli so high given that he’s a first year player, whereas there’s no Lane Hutson, when he’s probably the second or third (behind Bedard and maybe Nikishin) best prospect in hockey right now.

It’s gotta be Fantilli though

I hope he wins it so the leafs will have the 2022 and 2023 Hobey Baker winners in the prospect pool.

Hey maybe Matthew Knies is the next Jack Eichel or Johnny Gaudreau who knows? Maybe he’s the next Jimmy “Vanilla” VEEEEEECEEEEE!
Forty two players have won that award and more haven’t done much than have. Adam Gaudette plays for the Marlies.
Only three goalies have won it. Ryan Miller and does anyone remember Rob Stauber? And most recently or very own Dryden McKay. That’s more exciting for me.
Fun fact: Neil Broten was the first to win the award and Auston Matthews was the first American born player to beat his goals scored as an American rookie record when he scored his 39th.
His 35th beat Wendel Clark’s rookie franchise record.
And his 40th made him only the second rookie to score 40 since the 04/05 lockout behind Ovechkin and also only the 4th teenager to score 40 in his rookie season behind Mario Lemieux, Dale Hawerchuk and Pierre Turgeon.
Sadly though, Auston Matthews never won the Hobey Baker!

Knies is gonna be dirty, we gotta keep him

There’s tons of excitement around here for Matthew Knies. I understand that as we are a little thin in the prospect pool. But I’m just going to take a step back and give a chance for the kid to play a little bit of pro before I get too wound up about him. We get our hopes too high and if he doesn’t perform it’s going to be a hard crash. I hope people give him a little bit of space when he gets here.
