Craig Button on Shane Wright, Jack Rathbone and Hughes and Pettersson
TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joined the guys to talk about his first Craig’s List of the year which has Shane Wright at the top of it and also Canucks prospect Jack Rathbone.
Pretty sure Kesler trained Wright for a while. Imagine if he gets Keslers mean streak, while playing the same style of game as Bergeron. Heād be unstoppable.
What a clown, they're two different players. Joulevi will be in the lineup with the Canucks carrying 8 Dmen. PK and closing out the game last night demonstrated at 23 years of age he's making progress when HEALTHY.
Levi was referred to mgmt by the scouting staff and they took a flyer on him. Everyone knew when he was drafted that he was going to be a bust. He was a high draft choice in a weak draft after 4-5th pick. I remember this. Anyone paying attention to that knows he was never going to go anywhere with the organization.
Hereās a free nugget Canucks mgmt: donāt trust Sami Salo when it comes to scouting/drafting again
I liked the pick at the time, but between the injury setbacks and the long term effects of getting a disease a lot of people have died from have obviously taken their toll on Juolevi. I can imagine heās pretty beaten down right now physically and psychologically. Itās unfortunate and nobodyās fault, really. You just have to focus on the young guys who are definitely making the team this year and do the best you can. He may get more of an opportunity now by necessity with Hamonic likely bowing out. Juolevi has shown he can be an defensive defenseman in the NHL, bottom pairing when healthy, so if he can do that consistently, we may have something. Itās not like we couldnāt use a smart stay at home D man right now. Weāre not going to go anywhere trying to be the 80s Oilers.
Why did Virtanen get such a long leash compared to juolevi, Virtanen literally killed the play everytime he stepped on the ice. I hope juolevi proves all of you wrong.
Made a major mistake in drafting OJ in 1st round, but made up for it with a gem in Rathbone in the 3rd round. Drafting overall was not that bad. There wete more hits than misses the past few years. The scouts of the Canucks still gets my applause !

Audio mixing for the guests could still be better, but otherwise great content gentleman.
My favourite guest on the show. Great content as usual (even tho I don't agree with olli ceiling being 6 / 7… I think he'll be top 4 in time)
At least button gives an opinion these other clowns just follow the routine and say what's already known Pathetic.
I really hoped juolevi would pan out and i was a fan of the pick but i was wrong. Thats how the draft goes i guess. Sometimes guys just dont work out.
Always agreed with button my fav guest he knows what he's talking about šŖ
I think juolevi lacked confidence

Ok so everyone panic in 7 days. Got it Craig
Button, way past his expiry date.

Pettersson and Hughes without started of the season the will be a shambles..slow started yikes October .
As the two wannabe stars hold out for more money , I feel we need them less and less…..to much " Me", not enough "Team" .

OJ isn't even a depth defenseman…..AHLer or Europe is his next stop
Kilmmy needs to go the AHL, that kid is good
Man i wonder if Joulevi is listening to this?…..Sigh
Will Lockwood, the replacement of the Matthew Tkachuk type player Canucks should of drafted instead of OJ.
Buttons opinions are still worthless after his performance with the Flames.
