That Verhaeghe-Bennett-Tkachuk line is possibly one of the best in NHL right now. Matthew has proved this season that he can produce PPG or over with any linemates, but this line is giving one of the most dominant 5v5 performances I've ever seen. People thought that Tkachuk would miss Gaudreau, but why? Matthew is incredible as a playmaker and primary playdriver on his own. No one can stop him near the net. Carter Verhaeghe still remains probably the most underrated NHL player right now, amazing offense driver & transition player (almost Gaudreau tier skill on the rush) with the best shot in entire team, ability to find open ice & forechecking. Sam Bennett is a classical power forward, hard-nosed, fast, physical, has versatile offensive skillset and responsible enough in his own zone, excellent as a complementary top-six center. That's a nightmare matchup.
Huberdeau scored 115 points with Bennett, and Tkachuk is at 71 with Bennet. Turns out Bennett just carries the whole squad secretly. 😳😳😳😳

This wasn’t a hockey trade – the trade wasn’t made because the Flames liked Huberdeau and Weegar more than Tkachuk – they were set to lose Tkachuk for nothing so they took what I assume was the best offer. Geez, not hard to understand

We got fleeced hard and it was clear since day 1.
As a Florida fan, idk how we are not doing better. Not having a goalie rn hurts, but it’s more than that. I do think we just need more chemistry again, like last year. It may take time to develop this year, and we can bring the heat next year. Not out of the race yet and we can still make it, but I’m not holding my breath. I do see this team at least making it far in the playoffs in the next couple years!
