    Habs fan see what those long term contracts can do. Have they not seen what Carey Prices situation is doing? I have no problem paying a good player a nice paycheck but not on a 8year contract. teams need to protect they salary cap management otherwise many teams will be a trouble down the road. no room to improve the team. right now HABS have to pay price 10.5 mil for 4 years still, add Susuki at 8 million or close, then if Cofeld gets 8 million and Galaghar at 6.5 for 5 more years and the injuries keep adding he gave a lot to mtl but you follow where I am going here?this can become very caotic for a hockey team.

    I would take the risk giving Caufield 7×7, maybe even a touch more, but @ 8mil, if i was Habs management i would have to go with a bridge for 2-3yrs to make sure he can produce 40+ each season and close to 1pt per game, then give him a long term for 8-9mx8 or so. Its a risk on both sides. If Caufield exceeds expectations 50goals per season, and 80+ pts then he could get 10-11mil.

    In reality Caufield should get 5×4 or 5, then the big paycheck after that. But the Leafs started this crap so gotta pay him.

    Every video I click on that says "news" "update" I feel like i know nothing more then i did before, I wanna hear real news not speculation. Im losing it, Personally i think with slafy we made a poor decision Shane Wrights PPG and devolopment is pernally already looking better especially when we played seatlle last time. The usual weak performance from Slaf and found myself noticing the play making and chances Wright was all a part of, Its kind of like we see a Canadian or American 1st Prospect and go "Oh no domestic? nooo imported better"

    for a guy that was on a 50 goal pace at 22 years old no doubt he gets 8m a year, if it wasn't for the injury and he finished the season maybe more.

    I did lots of critics on caufield without knowing his arm is broken, ok guy scored 26 or 27 goals with a broken arm
    definitely with his 100% condition he is able to attack the 50, maybe even the 60 with an elite center that the canadiens doesn't currently have

    I think it should be 8+. In an ideal scenario he takes the same contract as Suzuki. Would look good if trying to build the next bruins-like team. St-Louis is the guy.. He has that passion to bring the Cup home..

    Why is it worth talking about mid February?
    There has to be something actually news worthy surrounding the organization. Go back to the tank train at least that's relevant

    He's 22 yrs old. He's not getting 8 million. What about doctors, nurses and surgeons, they save people's lives. Should they get 8 million? I even got my PSA grading returned to me including Cole Caufield Young Guns Card got a perfect/pristine/gem mint 10. I was joking about my 1st sentence, Cole should get the exact # of dollars in American Funds and not Canadian that he wants. He already reminds me of Theoren Fleury. They can skate like the wind and score when the game is tied or very close.
