The disputed goal might have been the correct call but it’s really poor officiating.
The referee clearly signaled ‘No Goal’ on the ice. He subsequently changed it to a ‘Good goal’. Why? On what basis? A referee can only call a good goal if he/she actually sees the puck completely cross the goal line. The referee obviously did not see the puck cross the goal line because it never crossed the goal line. He can’t see what didn’t happen. So there is no basis for claiming it was a good goal.
His first decision was the right one: No goal. Changing to a ‘good goal’ and then changing it back to ‘No goal’ is poor officiating.
