I was so looking forward to seeing how far along Broberg and Desharnais were at the start of the season, but both went through several injuries and had to start in Bakersfield. I think that The Oil should go with continuing to develop these drafted players and they still have Niemelainen and Kesselring bubbling up from the Farm. Nemo's a lefty that hits like a brick wall, and Kesselring a righty with scoring touch. If the coach prefers veteran depth, then there's 34 year old Demers on the farm too.
For the price of Chychrun, a team could get Toews, Domi and Lafferty from CHI.
Sorry, didn't need Franky to tell me that. Pretty obvious Holland has no interest in sacrificing high picks and prospects to make a block buster trade. The Oilers have found their chemistry. We don't need to disrupt that. The only thing Holland is focusing on is how to get rid of JP and yes, sorry to say, Yamo. With the hope of getting something decent back, but more so just clearing the cap space. That's all that's going to happen come trade deadline. Once the Oiler's schedule start running into a few more top eastern teams before the deadline Holland will conclude his final analysis and make a move for low salary cap player $1M – $3M with decent numbers.
The defense has been looking better lately, i dont think the oilers need a big name player like Chychrun, they just need a solid Vet D someone that can help settle the blue line like Keith did last year, but Dman with Keiths pedigree are a dime and a dozen

Best way to avoid trades that rob your team…..is to draft well. I like our draft picks, and I’m glad we did not trade VD !
