Thank you again for you fine work. Love the analysis. Long time LA Kings fan and watching the NHL. Of course, the LA Kings need a Goalie, have they looked at the KHL or Europe or Scandinavia? Just keep SCOUTING, find the DIAMOND in the ROUGH. Travel and seek.
That was a pathetically embarrassing all-star weekend for the NHL in pretty much every way possible.
I would like to see nhl do away with all star weekend. Been hockey fan for 40 years now and I don't think it really serves any purpose. I would instead like to see better scheduling with less back to back games and 3 games in 4 nights scenarios. Kings having brutal schedule the first half of the season and now 10 days off is good example of horrible scheduling by the league. Actually 70 game season would be ideal but it won't happen for obvious monetary reasons. Less games equals more rested players and possibly less injuries.
How do you think Pheonix Copley is going to look in a playoff game?
Thoughts on Joonas Korpisalo to the Kigns? Could that be a good option for a goalie?
The one thing I will wonder about JQ, if he just doesn't play enough, he won't get in Copley's way, but he has always needed game after game after game, etc. right now it's not there. And can practice all he wants, but not all the same. What if HE is asking for a trade, a chance to play somewhere, and play more? Wouldn't they try. He will always retire a King no matter what.
And i think Cal deserves a chance to come up and play again.

I think Kevin Fiala still has a great chance at exceeding his points total from last year. I think it took him a few games to get started here in LA which may have slightly slowed the start of his season but he is in full stride now. Also he seems to get stronger down the stretch. He is ahead of his pace from last year. Last year through 53 games he had 48 points and this year he has 53 points through 53.
Weird season so far with kings goaltending anyways it was supposed to b Peterson being #1and Quick probaly being #2 and passing on the torch so to say I don't know what the frigg happened I was hoping for both goalies to back to back somewhat Cal getting a few extra games over Quick because of age and playing a bit better I would hope for the future but I wish the best for all the kings players that dress each night GKG 👍😎
Would like big trade to get Vejmelka by Mar 3rd. If not, then get a rental G like Korpisalo or Lankinen & let that guy battle it out w/Copley for top goalie; that way we have 2 decent goalies rather than just one as Quickie is no longer adequate.
Btw Eddie, you covered a lot re: how Quickie might be thinking. After his illustrious career & past success, I have to believe that he strongly believes in himself and plans to continue giving his best effort for the rest of season; there is no quit in him & he has full belief in himself. I would love Veggie by March 3rd but would be ok with Korpisalo or Lankinen or another low cost rental to be a good #2. Or get Chychurn or Gavrikov.
Everyone loves Quick, but by the end of the week when the teams catch up on the games at hand, we probably will be in a Wildcard spot. You can't ride or die because he won cups for us 8 years ago. Give him one more start after the break, and if he loses we must aquire someone. Reimer or Allen would most likely give us more than 2 points in 8 games. Maybe we bring Peterson back up and give him the same shot. Either way we don't have our true number 1 goalie going forward. If Copley gets hurt Season over. That's a scary situation to be in. GKG

U don't run a competitive team & business by just leaving it up to the decision of a poor performer. Pro sports is a game of what have u done for us lately?'. They better not leave it up to Quick!
Great takes on “Quick”Eddie ! Very difficult situation and I think we’re all especially curious about what Jonathan Quick is thinking ? One thing we can’t do is play Quick out of respect. I think Tmac has done that already and it has meant several losses. I say ride Copley hard, and play him even on back to backs.
If/when Copley struggles,
we can try Quick again. But not until that happens ! I am not worried about Copley in playoffs because he’s never been there. He’s 31 and I think simply being older grounds him just fine !
