Does this mean Kane will not be going to NYC?
Neither player will resign with the Rangers. Check out Larry Brooks-(N.Y. Post) article yesterday.
Payroll will be a major problem with the Rangers this off season.
Good trade for both teams. NYR gets the winger they need, who is friends with Panarin, no less, plus a depth defenseman. And, Tarasenko might resign, if NYR is creative about the cap space. Meanwhile, STL gets some useful draft picks for the rebuild.

seems a good trade for both teams to me ,Mikkola would only have garnered a 4th rounder on his own so in reality its a prospect and a first for tarasenko who could have taken the bat and ball away and scuppered any deal. A change of scenery will almost definitely ignite tarasenko in the short term .

NYR get softer and weaker defensively and on the forecheck. Playoffs are a mad grind. They lack the right balance of grit and scorers
As a Leaf fan I'm SO glad Dubas DIDNT trade for Tarasenko….he hasn't looked good all year and I doubt he would work on the Leafs. Leafs will land Chychrun soon .
NY still has a 1st round in there pocket plus hung on to all the kids! Don't be surprised if they make another move before the deadline.
