    I know the avs were in on Monahan but even if he is healthy i have no clue how they would fit him under the cap. It seems the only way they receive a contract like his is if the avs move Sammy G.

    A foot injury is one of the worst – it can take a very long time to heal – I knew someone who had serious issues for over a year and a half.

    Isn’t it obvious? They don’t want to expose him to the market. They need to keep a few good veterans to support the youth in the roster. He will probably return to the lineup once trade deadline has come and gone.

    I really don't know how to read this. Clearly the Habs would like to trade Sean, and clearly his body is not up to taking the beating NHL players have to endure. Let's hope for the tank!!

    I don't know the long-term picture. Yet when franchises go completely silent on a roster player? They're gone or hiding an asset til after trade deadline.
    Don't attract attention.

    If they have nothing good to say? He's not going to be well? Then don't say anything at all & trade him.
    It'll only devalue their a$$et.

    But there's a few things going on here – maybe they need his cap space before trade deadline… (I haven't researched)

    Or, this may indeed be a bit "greasy" as they say in Eastern Canada… could be like packing a bad transmission with sawdust…

    I don't think it's weird that caufield and slaf are out for the season. The habs season is done, keeping caufield & slafkovsky completely healthy for next season is much more valuable to them.
