Potential Deadline Returns

Figured it would be nice to have a record of comparable trades for us to look at over the next month as we approach the deadline. With guys like Toews, Kane, Domi, Athanasiou, etc. available for a trade I wanted to have a place to keep track of other deals that happen around the league.

I am not going to try to make any exact conclusions in this thread or say each player trade is 100% comparable to our guys, every situation is different, so this is more just for a reference spot.

So far we have seen:

#Kane Comparable Trades

[*Tarasenko*](https://twitter.com/CapFriendly/status/1623769022004183042)

– To NYR: Tarasenko (50%), Mikkola

– To STL: Blais, Skinner, 2023 1st Round Pick (later of NYR or DAL), 2023 4th Round Pick (becomes a 3rd if NYR makes the playoffs).

#Toews Comparable Trades

[*Horvat*](https://twitter.com/CapFriendly/status/1620195580072042496)

– To NYI: Horvat

– To VAN: Beauvillier, Räty, 2023 1st Round Pick (top 12 protected)

#Jack Johnson Comparable Trades

[*Megna*](https://twitter.com/CapFriendly/status/1622436899100004352)

– To SEA: Megna

– To SJS: 2023 4th Round Pick (TBD between Seattle’s own pick and Colorado’s; have to decide by 6/15/2023)

#Additional Notes/Rumors

– [“According to sources, the Rangers targeted Tarasenko – a player they long coveted – and decided to go for it after feeling the asking prices for Timo Meier and Patrick Kane were too high. Also sounds like New York had some concerns over Kane’s hip injury.”](https://twitter.com/emilymkaplan/status/1623768434843521024)

– [It doesn’t sound like the Rangers got to asking price point of discussions with Blackhawks – because ball is still in Patrick Kane’s court coming to Chicago with what he wants to do. But the NYR didn’t want to wait on him, and also had concerns about his hip.](https://twitter.com/emilymkaplan/status/1623773120116011010)

  1. Awesome idea, I’m curious how this deadline unfolds. That said, I’m not sure if I’d put Horvat and Tazer at the same level, but I guess there really isn’t another comparable right now

What about Domi? Wasn’t he only signed for a year?

  3. Interested to see what McCabe could return. I think he’d be a great fit for a team on a cup run that needs a steady defender.

  4. I’d like it if Chicago traded McCabe to Edmonton for Kostin or Broberg.

Domi and Stalock for either Ty Voit, Kallgren, and Holmberg or Robertson and a middle draft pick would also be acceptable seeing as Domi is exactly what Toronto needs, and Stalock could be a great backup goalie as well as Robertson being a great potential second line sniper.
