Wow, it is crazy that two of the best teams over the last couple years are first and last.

I wish they would include “Total number of picks” in these as well, so we could see how efficient the teams are.

Ottawa had some noticeable picks in the late rounds:
* Mark Stone – 6th round, 178th overall in 2010 (Got Brannstrom and drafting Sokolov with the 2nd round pick after trading him) * Jean-Gabriel Pageau – 4th round, 94th overall in 2011 (were able to select Greig with the 1st round pick, Tyler Kleven using a 2nd round pick involving a draft day trade with the leafs involving picks) * Ryan Dzingel – 7th round, 204th overall in 2011 (fleeced CBJ in the trade where we got Anthony Duclair who was an all-star with us and 2 2nd round picks) * Drake Batherson – 4th round, 121st overall in 2017 * Mark Kastelic – 5th round, 125th overall in 2019
There are other late round picks that we took from 2018-2020 that could become solid players:
* Angus Crookshank – 5th round, 126th overall in 2018 * Maxence Guenette – 7th round, 187th overall in 2019 * Leevi Meriläinen – 3rd round, 71st overall in 2020 * Cole Reinhardt – 6th round, 181st overall in 2020

I’d prefer they used points or some other qualitative measure instead of games played. Mark Stone and Mike Hoffman are not equally impressive draft successes
