  1. Dubas doesn't make changes before or on trade dead line the LEAFS will not get past the 1st round …. LEAFS need (1) TOP 2nd line forward and (1) 2nd line pairing D … players are Timo Meier and Vladislav Gavrikov …. JUST my opinion

  2. Sandin and Lilly had their worst game of the season vs Boston…Samsonov also had a bad night should of stopped 3 out of the 5 goals he let in

  3. wtf you talking about bergy signed for 2.5 with 1.5 of it in bonuses , krecji signed for 1 million

  4. Boston has beat the lighting in the playoffs as well… What a couple homers. Big hate on for the Bruins, salt cope big time.

  5. yes they are and its absolutely lovely to see Toronto whine and complain about boston , even though they out spend them on their players
maybe they shouldnt have over paid their star players before even getting INTO the 2nd round

    "Toronto – We reward failure!"

  6. I remember Don Sweeney was laughed at, almost fired for signing Pasternak to the near $7 mil deal. All the media types were reporting that all the other gm's were mad cause it was such an overpayment.

  7. Simple Answer NO!!! The BIGGEST issue that face the Bruins today is that they don't have any team friendly hometown discount contracts like the one that dubass the brainiac boy wonder signed!!! BOOK IT!!!

  8. From my observation the biggest difference between the two is Boston is a team and the Leafs are a group of individual players that sometimes plays as a team. We get this Jekyll and Hyde from game to game and sometimes from period to period. I never know how many beers to have on hand for a game!

  9. Boston, like Montreal actually make it past the first round of the playoffs and to the finals once and awhile lol 😆 what was the question again 🤓all will be answered in the first round 🤓1967🤓

  10. Boston beat Tampa twice already this year. I was at the Bos Carolina game. The Bs had a tiring road trip and looked exhausted in that game. If Carlo had not crashed into Ulmark that winning goal does not go in and it goes to Ot. At that it is a crap shoot. The problem with the Leafs is that they a a few prima Donnas with a supporting cast. Every Bruins player is playing for every other player. When the top guys get neutralized the 3rd and 4th lines and D are scoring. A lot will change between now and the playoffs. Good players make any coach look like a genius. That's the way I see it.

  11. I would say Carolina has a better chance than anyone in beating Boston. Carolina is extremely deep and will only get better as they plan to make a big splash at the deadline with their available cap space. They already have the best D core in the league and their forward depth probably outways Boston's. Goaltending will be the deciding factor there. Can't disregard that when Carolina makes the playoffs, they almost always go on a deep run

  12. Never been a better time to trade Marner or Nylander. They are too soft for playoff hockey. great skilful players but give up to many goals when they are on the ice. Dont get me wrong they can rack up points but hockey is also dependent on playing with heart and soul which neither players has. .That 20 million dollars betweeen them plus with Muzzin"s 5 million. You know what kinda players you can get for that kinda money and cheaper options also draft picks. We need tough guys who other players must dread playing when their teams meet up. To quote the words of a famous comedian " I get know respect.." Nylander and Marner get no respect from other teams.

  13. As you guys said the Bruins players took fair market value on their contracts. The difference I see with Toronto is Nylander/Marner/Matthews wanted to really maximize earnings. Its less about taking 'team friendly' deals and more about accepting a fair value and not pushing it IMO.

  14. Bruins fan here………yes, they can be beaten in a 7 game series. The three teams that I think could beat them happen to be in the Eastern Conference.
    1. Carolina gives Boston the biggest challenge. Their speed gives Boston so much trouble.
    2. Tampa Bay scares me as a Bruins fan. They know how to win and they're in the heads of the Bruins.
    3. Lastly, I do believe that Toronto could beat the Bruins, but they would need to make some moves at the trade deadline that would improve their depth. The Leafs would also need to stay healthy throughout the series. Finally, the Leafs need to believe they can win and get out of the first round.

  15. I said it in a previous comment here and I'll say it again. The Leafs players signed at their correct market value at the time and those contracts are still the correct market value today. The cap has gone up since the Boston players signed. The cap stayed completely flat since the Leafs core signed. Everyone thought that Willy was way overpaid at 6.9 Mil when he signed and that already looks like a steal of a contract. Now imagine if the cap were at 90M like it was supposed to be by now! His contract would be insanely cheap and he could state "I took a discount", when he didn't, just like Marchand. Could make the same point for Matthews Marner and Tavares. Had the cap gone to 90M they all would be outperforming their deals (aside from maybe Tavares who is in the latter half of his career and will be signing for less in his extension). Matthews and Marner will both extend for roughly the same money that they are on now because they already signed the deals at the correct market value for an increasing cap.

  16. The genius of Brad Marchands comments is that he know all Toronto media would have a meltdown. May I introduce exhibit A.

  17. What would happen if Ron Maclean likens Leafs playoff meltdowns to the holocaust? That's what I've been thinking about.

  18. I loved Lapore's Murray rant..just the best take ever. BTW..Wendel top Captain first second and third place..JT my favorite Leaf on this current roster..always the best Leaf content,Thx Boys!!!I

  19. So Leafs need a top 6, need a d-man, etc. Problem is, what can they offer in exchange? Knies who is 30th in scoring in the NCAA and may not even be a regular NHLer? First draft pick will be a late one, almost a second rounder. This will be the challenge.

  20. As a Bruins fan, I love love love listening to u guys talking about needing a top 6 forward, 3 bottom 2 defenseman, blah blah. Zacha was supposed to be bottom 6. Carlo not supposed to be top 4 but he is. Your team isn't good enough. I don't care who u get. Sorry. 🤷‍♂️

  21. This is the dumbest question ever , of course they are too good for the Leafs. In sooooo many ways.

  22. Well, they kick your ass every time in the playoffs, so the answer is a resounding yes.

Btw, how soon do you think Matthews will ask for a trade?

  23. Here’s the difference between the leafs and bruins.

Our star players don’t take up much cap space. They play for way under their market value. But they do it to leave space for other talent to come in and succeed, they pass down that mentality to the next generation and give to every player in the locker room.
They don’t build the team over one or 3 guys and allow them to get paid 8-9 million a year. It limits the teams ability to win and acquire solid depth.
That is why the bruins and most boston teams have been so consistently good, and then when Boston teams do tank in the 21st century, the next season you see them in a finals or winning championships. The Red Sox did it twice !

Tom Brady always took a lower salary hit so other talent and come in and play. And so other players and stars on the patriots followed that lead. So many of Boston’s 21st century athletes play for way under their market value. But they do it for the intent to win championships and be consistent.

I know not many like Jack Edwards but he’s right,
“The difference between good and great is great is consistency”
It’s absolutely correct. Boston is a championship for a reason and the players that come to Boston are very selfless and team first minded. They respect our coaches and organizations and trust the process and willingly play while underpaid but that is part of the process, and if it gets them championships, why do they care how much they’re getting paid. They’re always winning. Winning fever. That is why Boston Teams have dominated the cap era. Just look at our city’s rosters!

  24. Are The Boston Bruins Too Good For The Toronto Maple Leafs? Tampa is better then both the Leafs and the Bruins! The Leafs are garbage! Soft little boys.

  25. You see.. but they did take less money. Bergeron signed a 1 year deal for Pennie’s on the dollar. Krecji.. also the same. They all have been payed less than the average for the same caliber talent. Only change to that has been Charlie. Now look at the leafs contracts.. 90% is tied up in what.. 4 guys? This is why you guys need to find cheap players to try and hit on. If your big 3 took a mil and a half less you could have a solid 2nd pairing D. Facts.

  26. This season is just like last season and the one before it. This team is built wrong bottom line. It requires all league goal tending to have a chance and that is proving hard to get consistently. Overpaying too many soft players means there is no money left for gritty depth. Reilly, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares and Kerfoot all make multiple millions too much. That adds up big time. Like these guys and their flash and stats all you want but they aren't good enough to win together and get paid together.
