Over 3,000 games and 37 seasons. Absolute legend. Really wish they would air Amerks games in Buffalo. We got two sports stations … no need for them to be both be about the big NBA trade or who are you betting on in week twelve.

I thought he might get called up when RJ stepped down.
Thoughts on Don calling the Sabres?

We were sitting right in front, sec 224. He was very emotional. Beautiful dedication.

The hockey voice of my childhood. I remember listening to his call when the Amerks beat the Sherbrooke Canadians back in the 90’s for the Calder Cup.

Was so happy seeing Don get honored. Growing up in Rochester he was equally responsible (with RJ) for sparking my passion for this game. Had the opportunity to sit in the booth with him for a game (pretty sure it was against the River Rats and Scott Nichol suffered a serious injury) when I was a high school student as part of a career exploration program. He was so gracious with his time and even let me work the board (let me is a loose interpretation for me just going ahead and flipping a switch to pick up the in house announcements for goals and penalties). Well deserved honor!

Been a Sabres fan over 35 years, any way I can listen to his broadcasts here as a transplant in South Florida?
