The Colorado Avalanche defeat the Florida Panthers to get back on the right track before heading home to Colorado. Logan O’Connor kicked off the scoring with a shorthanded goal, followed by Matt Nieto’s first goal on a goalie since returning to the Avalanche. Florida ended up tying the game at two but was quickly turned around by a rebound chance from Devon Toews moments later. Colorado extended their lead to two again with a goal from Nathan MacKinnon on the power play and then wrapped up with an empty net also from MacKinnon.
