In the weeks leading up to the 2020-21 season, we’d like to highlight some of the Lone Star Brahmas’ best moments from the 2019-20 year. This week, we’re showcasing the talent of LSB alumni, Matthew Guerra.
Veteran Matthew Guerra concluded a two-year stint on the Lone Star Brahmas by securing two NAHL-era career-high records. The forward obtained the career record in assists with 86 apples in a matchup against the Corpus Christi IceRays on Dec. 6, as well as slid to the top of the ranks in career points with 116 (30g-86a) during the Oct. 5 game with the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Also, Guerra is tied with LSB alumnus Sebastian Vidmar (2013-15) for most assists in a single season, each obtaining 45, which was the top amount of the entire NAHL during the 2019-20 year. Guerra is committed to Robert Morris University (Atlantic Hockey, D1).
Take a look back at one of Guerra’s best plays all season, a no-look feed to forward Will Stromp on Feb. 22 against the Corpus Christi Ice Rays below.
