  1. This avalanche team that had the human dung last year in kadri if everyone one the avalanche got hurt it would be awesome

  2. Personally, I think this should have been matching penalties. A 2 minute penalty on Jeff Carter for interference, and a 2 minute penalty on Makar for embellishment. Both players were equally at fault for the hit in my opinion.

  3. That isn’t a missed call, it’s unfortunate incidental contact as Carter kept in his path and didn’t deviate direction or accelerate with force to make contact with Makar’s head. Also at the last second Makar pivots and skates in the path of Carter and runs directly into him. It sucks that Makar is injured, but not every injury has intent behind it nor does every hit causing an injury warrant a penalty.

  4. I have no horse in the race. I'm not a fan of either team. That looks like incidental contact. Makar turned to the corner to get the puck and skated into Carter's path. Not every play where a star gets injured is de facto premeditated murder. Hockey is a tough sport. Sometimes people get injured completely by accident.

  5. Homer announcers making something out of nothing. Where was the referee? Right there on the play. Slow it down to .25 and watch it again. Carter isn't even looking at Makar as he attempts to turn toward the puck. Makar also turns to the puck and when he does, his head contacts Carter's shoulder. Carter makes absolutely no movement into Makar. It is Makar's movement that results in the collision. And guess what…I'm a real Pens fan but I call them as I see them. Carter does not deserve criticism from this hit. The referee does not deserve criticism for failing to call a penalty. Did Cale Makar call out Carter for this hit? Did Makar's team mates respond to Carter with aggression. Neither, and that's telling. These homer announcers should be disciplined by the league for incitement.

  6. Listening to these homer announcers, you probably think you witnessed an aggravated assault by Carter on Makar. It didn't happen. Makar's head moves into the path of Carter's shoulder, as Carter is looking away from Makar. From the Denver Post: "Carter was not penalized on the ice, and he was not issued a suspension or any further punishment by the NHL’s department of player safety. The department reviews all hits or collisions that can potentially impact a player’s safety." Maybe the NHL's department of safety reviewed this play, without the iaudio of these homer announcers. The referees ruled the hit a collision, and that's what it was. Makar's head collided with Carter's shoulder, when Makar's head turned into Carter. Carter made no effort to hit Makar and made no movement into Makar. He wasn't even looking at Makar.

  7. Its impressive all the virtue signaling from Penguins fans who want Carter suspended just so he is out of the lineup……

  8. That’s hockey. Carter didn’t look like he was even trying to do that. It’s unfortunate because I do like Makar quite a bit, as he’s an excellent player. I am a Penguins fan but I genuinely do not like Carter, and the amount of playing time he gets. He’s a liability to the team, and it would be nice if he got suspended if only so that Sullivan couldn’t put him on the ice so much. Makar offers more to the game than Carter can or ever could. That said, as a hockey player, that hit did not look intentional or premeditated. It’s a rough, physical, contact sport. Things like that happen. People up in arms about this play look like they just haven’t been around the sport long enough.

  9. Avalanche announcers? Dead wrong, your phag player turned his head to watch the puck. Carter had his numbers lined up, just unlucky.
    “Whaaaaaaaaaaa, baby not happy.” Announcer

  10. I swear if Macdermid or Englund does not beat the crap out of Carter I'm going to punch the TV everytime he is on it.

  11. Bad title. How do you read intent to do anything here. You know hockey, so you know things are way to fast to plan a inconspicuous hit as this one, he would have to read the puck and his assignment while thinking I'm going to time my shoulder perfectly for when Makar reaches slightly so that one inch of my shoulder just clips his chin and then skate with such precision that his plan of inches actually happens over 15 feet away without looking. Thats like hitting a full court shot with a blind fold and one arm tied to your foot. This is nothing, as most know outside of Colorado or view searchers.

  12. Only watch makar and tell me carter could have known he would turn the second before he arrives and then in that second hit him while looking away.

  13. How did no one go after Carter? Wtf? That's one of your star players go run that pos

  14. I dont think that was on purpose, he’s going for the puck sitting right there and makar turns his head at the last second. Still should be suspended though, of course the announcers get all butthurt

  15. People were saying that the announcers were trying to “sell it” but in reality, there was nothing to sell. They were just commentating it. This was a dirty head hunt by the Penguins, shame on them.

  16. What a joke for everyone involved.
    Ref completely missed it
MacKinnon looking right at it and doesn’t stand up for him
Girard looking at it and does nothing
Both the late men back look at it and and do nothing
There’s a linesmen and a referee also on the play and they missed it

    What an absolute joke.

  17. Homer announcers are so annoying, it was not intentional, Maker moved into it. Not a fan of either team, no dog in this fight.
