Good riddance! Maybe sometime soon I’ll finally be able to watch the games on a streaming service as I did for years before they acquired the rights to the Indians/Guardians & Blue Jackets.
Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving company imo.

Hopefully this will make watching the Blue Jackets easier

Question for the sub. I’ve tried to keep an eye on this lately, but does anyone know if it changes how games can be watched the rest of the year, or does it not get effected? We used the ballys app with my wife’s parents login the past couple years, but this year ballys nipped that. I have espns nhl package. Will I now be able to watch games through that service or will I still be blacked out?

Hopefully ESPN/Disney buys em and can do away with the dumbass market blackouts

Honestly, I know it won’t happen, but I’d almost like to see Bally stop operating before the season ends to see exactly what the NHLs backup plan is that they talked about a few days ago.
It’s not like they can bypass blackouts and let ESPN+ stream it, since that would probably violate antitrust (Disney was forced to sell Fox’s regional networks) so maybe they’d stream it through NHL TV? Idk, I’m curious what they’d do.

spent their whole budget finally correcting the white balance on broadcasts

I feel for the productions crews who work for Sinclair, but I also hope that their executive team never find another job in the media industry. Beyond the poor performance of the Bally Sports app, they’re responsible for “must run” politically biased sponsored segments at all of their owned stations.
We would also be lucky if this could result in the end of regional contracts and black outs. I’m really tired of not being able to watch certain games because they’re only broadcast on Bally or blacked out because I’m technically within the viewership area of the Lightening and the Florida Panthers.

With the way the Jackets are playing this year, maybe their games can be moved to Comedy Central or Cartoon Network.

Maybe the Jackets will launch their own streaming service?
Well looking at the map, having the Reds in Youngstown, the Blue Jackets in Cleveland and the Cavaliers/Guardians in Cincinnati is probably why
