Really though, I hope to see the Wings break 30 shots on goal and have far fewer 2 minute defensive zone shifts next game.

Glad we stomped the Canucks. I had to watch their broadcast, and they did yet another painful feature on drafting Zadina over Hughes. Embarrassing them at home gives me some small consolation.

Great all around win. Sure it’s the Canucks but the guys looked so much more confident with the puck. Making good passes, being creative with possession and not just immediately dumping it in.
Jimmy has the thickest fingers I’ve ever seen on a not overweight human.

Also, I feel terrible for Keats; being put on the spot with a heavy story is a position no sportscaster should be forced in to. Easy to jumble words and say the wrong thing and get eviscerated for it when all you were expecting to do is talk about some guys playing a game with some sticks and a puck.

okay i’m home, what a game.
– rogers arena was basically a funeral home. this was the only game this season i’ve been to and wow it was dead in there. employees would come to peer pressure sections into chants but they wouldn’t even last as long as some of the “sell the team” chants. straight up depressing to be there (if you’re a fan of the home team that is). no jerseys on the ice but there was a toque lol
– larkin is incredible to watch in person. i already knew that but tonight with where my seats were, it was the perfect view to see his speed. lower bowl is crazy, tickets are expensive here so i don’t normally go for it
– BIG RAS
– kubalik started quite poorly (at least defensively) but i saw him skating his ass off and make some really good plays on the backcheck
– the canucks are a tragically bad and awfully constructed hockey team. they make so many blatant mistakes that leave me speechless. 27th in the league, like 3 long term anchor contracts (one of which they just signed), spent to nearly the cap, softest team in the league, owned by the aqualinis. no matter how bad this season or future ones may get, just be grateful we’re not them
