    > entertainment value on the ice isn’t great

Are they talking about the in arena entertainment or the fact that the team sucks?

As a STH, I’ve come to terms with the latter, but the former still drives me wild each game. Absolute cringe.

Chairs are breaking, i have seen the lights be burnt out in a bathroom, there are deadspots on the big screen, the speakers have been dead in some sections, there is mice in the building, and you have fans booing the in-game presentation.

Does Francesco have an ounce of self-respect? All this is just embarrassing

Every night Hannah Bernard isn’t hosting and they bring in some monotone lifeless fuck a piece of me dies.

Don’t forget the 20$ beer and 16$ hotdog, such a rip off is just greedy. Like 16$ beer okay you get a solid 5x x markup, but 20$ that’s criminal. AND the team blows

Mice run around in every facility not just here. I’ve seen them in Seattle at Lumen Field in the past a lot of them. When you have gates and doors open as much as all these arenas and Stadiums do mice are getting in.

At least play some kick ass top 40 or something and fuck sweet c

  7. Good lord, if Rogers Arena is getting called old, they gotta start sending people to dig fossils from the Saddledome

Does Francisco Aquilini have any sort of shame? Like honestly he’s worth a billion or so dollars and he’s allowing this to take place. Sadly I am not surprised. Look at the way he runs his businesses.

We’ve been told this before the tweet. Fuck you aqua man !

Lol just another complaint. There is a complaint box and make sure you put a note in it. I go to so many games and it’s not even that bad. Yes it’s a bit dated but whatever. There are no bad seats in rogers arena.

Mice in this kind of venue will occur. But obviously, investing in pest control is uber important.

So during the World Juniors, my GF and I were at one of the early games, during the day. Stadium was maybe 1/4 full. We were sitting pretty isolated in the upper bowl. All of a sudden I see the large mouse run from underneath my seat, across the stairwell and disappear into another row. I then lock eyes with the steward, who definitely saw the mouse and knew that I saw it too. He immediately goes in the tunnel and disappears. About 15 minutes later 2 guys in a suits approach me and ask to speak to me in the concourse. For some reason I thought I was in trouble or something lol. Been to lots of games at Rodgers and never had this happen. One guy just goes “sorry for what happened and here’s your new tickets for the game.” They upgraded me to centre ice club seats. Pretty nice considering the game was still in the first period lol. They never mentioned the mouse specifically but I got the feeling this has happened before.

Those bathrooms are so gross. I don’t care if they are old, just fucking clean them. And often!

  14. Emergency_Wolf_5764

Surely the Aquilinis can afford to buy more mouse traps and pay for new seats and other renovations.

The ground floor is always the main area of vulnerability.

    Kill the rodents.

    Next.

Hey Francesco, keep the land, sell the team

  16. Seaworld on the Gold Coast, Australia has a rat problem.

I mean, it’s a city next the ocean. There are going to be mice. I don’t envy the task of dealing with them in such a large building.

  18. sunshinecdude

Wow fans here are such shit. Yeah the team sucks ok fair enough.

The arena is still one of the better rinks in the league. Its come down to complaining about seeing rats or mice or the seats needing replaced?

And all this crying about the owner yet people are so fast to forget before he was here the team very likely could have moved. I just don’t get this fanbase always ripping the guy. We have local ownership spending to the cap and beyond in all other departments. Don’t take it for granted.

  19. Greater Vancouver has a mouse and rat infestation problem because the cities don’t want to do anything about it. I’m not surprised there are mice at the arena. My workplace had a mouse issue when there was construction nearby that destroyed the mouse holes. A mouse ran over my coworkers feet as she was sitting by her desk wearing only sandals in the middle of summer. I live in Burnaby and have had rats ran out of their burrows in front of me many times. They hide in the bushes all over the city.

Roger’s Arena is not new but it’s still not as bad as some of the much more famous stadiums I’ve visited around the world.

  20. timorousme

the worst part of it is the mice aren’t even fans of the team, they’re just there to network and take selfies

  21. Judge_Rhinohold

I’ve 8 arenas around the NHL and Vancouver was the worst atmosphere of any of them. The building seemed ok, just the energy was non-existent.
