Holy shit, 1 goal and 3 assists for Edvinsson last night.

  2. MoldyMerkin

Four points behind Washington with three games in hand.

  3. atheistinabiblebelt

The last game I watched they lost. I haven’t turned in for this western trip at all. I’m afraid to watch tonight.

  4. VariousDay5

Husso was a legend last night, I really hope he gets the rest tonight on a Canadian back to back. Yes Hellberg is nowhere as good but we need to rest our dude who got a ton of work last night

  5. MyJazzDukeSilver

Larkin is now a PPG player on the season. Looks like he found a new gear at the all star game!

Just curious, are these game-day threads now the “general chat” threads?

My men’s league game ending before the Wings game is a rare occurrence, but ur happened last night haha. Damn Pacific time games.
Got to watch the end of the 3rd and beyond though

  9. BabaganoushTime

My final Wings game at the Dome for many years to come. I just want one Seider reverse hit and a Larkin hat trick. Not too much to ask for, right?

  10. Old_Cryptographer226

We’re only 4 pts out of a playoff spot with 3 fewer games played than the caps. Panthers and islanders both have 4 more games played.

I’m not saying it’s gonna happen but it’s certainly possible

  11. Little-Knee5682

Good morning to Ville Husso and to my Swiss Cake Roll, Pius Suter.

  12. xenonwarrior666

Call me nuts but I want Ned to get a 1 year extension.

He’s been awesome in GR. I think he has his mojo back.

I’m sure Ned wants a longer deal but I wouldn’t mind giving him a two way deal and give him a raise if he’s up in the big league.

    Maybe something like 3.5/2

  13. lets_kill_time

Here’s a dilemma. We are winning. Great! Talking about wild card spot within 4 pts. How many of you can tell me with a straight face that we have a chance against Bruins or Canes in round 1? So the dilemma is not selling like a bubble team, play 4 games in playoffs vs stay on track with the plan and maximize return on some of the pieces to build a true perennial contender.

Case in point, Canucks and preds were in the same boat. One didn’t go through true rebuild properly and the other didn’t kickstart it cuz Saros got hot towards the end of the season. Look where they are now.

    From 32 Thoughts:

    > Holland has said he’s wary of players who tend to have injury issues, which is why I think he’d hesitate on Joel Edmundson. No doubt Edmundson would cherish that kind of a playoff opportunity, though. Same goes for Tyler Bertuzzi, who Holland drafted in Detroit. As Jeff Marek reported, Dallas and Tampa Bay are there, as well. The Stars are searching for another scorer.

my bad, everyone. i peeked in to the game before turning in on the night and literally a moment later the oilers got on the board.

i learned my lesson. i’ll stick to watching recaps the morning after. when i don’t watch the team does well.

  16. ts1234666

Hot damn, we’re almost at 100k subscribers. Still remember hitting 30k a few years back. This was a [fun](https://subredditstats.com/r/detroitredwings) read. I’m apparently top 10 by comment score sum which is nuts. My favorite stat is the keyword “perfetti” being top 5. The speculation was very brief but very intense apparently

  17. tfoxsail

Watching Kane not only lose last night but also get stuffed by Husso in the shootout makes my day! LGRW!!!!

  18. Have to say it again: The defensive clinic Seider and Hronek put on during OT last night was just fantastic. Was the highlight of the game imo.

Also the McD shootout goal was just stupid. No way anyone is stopping that. Going to be a crime against hockey when the oilers ultimately waste him.

  19. AmazingSieve

Calgary is tough on a good day let alone on the back end of a back to back

  20. If we win tonight and Florida beats Washington, we’ll be 2 points out of the wildcard spot with 3 games in hand. I want this shit so bad please

  21. I think the winning streak ends tonight. Calgary is a much better team than their record shows, and we’re on a back-to-back after a tough fight & SO win last night. A win would be sweet though.

  22. CustardNips

This just in: wings play hot hot hot and the streak continues

  23. TheNation55

Maatta 2 year extension, now sign Larkin already.

  24. Danengel32

Good for Maatta. Really deserved the extension with his play and he’s been a great fit in Detroit

  25. j_louie13

Just another Stevie ‘W’ locking up Maatta with a 2×3..love to see it

  26. VariousDay5

Happy to see this west coast trip moving upwards; first game was 10, then 9:30, then 9:00

  27. Redwings1023

I like the Olli extension however I can’t help but feel as if there is a more urgent expiring contract at the moment..

  28. Smokes_LetsGo_

If we can sign Walman and find a trade partner for Chiarot I would be ecstatic.

  29. just_disappointed44

Just a few thoughts with the TDL coming up: 1) Yzerman’s moves make the team better, sometimes immediately sometimes in the future. 1a) Larkin holds all of the cards. He has a NMC and would be a ufa. His deal will get done, the alternative is he walks for nothing- that won’t make the team better. Even a little over paid, his deal gets done. 1b) Bert makes the team better. If there is a trade, if, it will be at a huge cost which will make the team better. Win/win. I hope he stays. 2) we resigned Oli- yay!

  30. AffectionateMrPink

Stevie has a tough decision here. Team is finally getting all its horses together and playing well. Ideally, you’d have another sell off for assets after team improved this year but what now? The players in that locker room are making a big push. Do you disrupt that? Honestly, it’s a really tough call.

  31. Quotes from seravalli trade board

    22. Jakub VranaLeft Wing, Detroit Red WingsAge: 26Stats: 2 GP, 1 G, 1 A, 2 PtsContract: 1 more season, $5.25 million AAVScoop: Vrana was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids on Wednesday to replace the injured Lucas Raymond on the roster, but will have to wait his turn to enter the lineup, as he was made a healthy scratch against Edmonton. He posted 6 goals in 17 games (11 points) with Grand Rapids in his demotion. He only appeared in two NHL games this season after returning from the NHL/NHLPA’s Player Assistance program for what sources say was a substance abuse issue. That Vrana notched a goal and assist in those two games was par for the course. He is a gifted goal scorer, fourth in the league in goals-per-60 minutes at even-strength over the last three seasons. That has caught the attention of teams. The Red Wings would add that they believe he isn’t a consistent competitor, particularly in practice. If the Red Wings are going to buy him out of the remaining year in the summer – would they retain that much now and take an asset in return for him?

    27. Jake Walman 🆕Left Defense, Detroit Red WingsAge: 26Stats: 34 GP, 5 G, 4 A, 9 PtsContract: Pending UFA, $1.05 million AAVScoop: Walman is currently day-to-day with an injury but expected to be back soon. The Red Wings have interest in re-signing him, but to this point have not pulled the trigger, leaving open the question as to whether GM Steve Yzerman will move him. There is interest in Walman, who is inexpensive, has a little size and is playing nearly 19 minutes a night this season in Detroit. Walman was part of a deadline deal last year, going from St. Louis to Detroit as part of the Nick Leddy trade.

    28. Tyler BertuzziLeft Wing, Detroit Red WingsAge: 27Stats: 22 GP, 2 G, 6 A, 8 PtsContract: Pending UFA, $4.75 million AAVScoop: What’s the best way to describe the interest level in Bertuzzi? GM Steve Yzerman is intrigued. Why wouldn’t he be? Bertuzzi has missed a significant chunk of the season with injury, but he had a monster season last year with 30 goals and 62 points in 68 games. His contract is also up and that means a massive raise, at a time when the Winged Wheel will need to balance a new deal for Dylan Larkin (or trade him) as well as future contracts for Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, et. al. Bertuzzi has plenty of game and most importantly, he has bite. He seems like a prime playoff player. He’s just never gotten a taste of it at the NHL level.

  32. kermitthefrog57

Go panthers. Beat the caps and we have a real shot here, don’t at all expect a win tonight though. Buffalo has San Jose but then Tampa and Toronto, so we will be able to make some ground back after this

  33. Mushroomman00

Yo anyone know what’s the Wings longest W streak this season ? Is it 4 back from November ?

  34. dudewithchronicpain

When will we find out if vrana is in?
