Well fuck, I guess we were all wrong about Mitts, let’s pay him $10 million. Don’t worry about the steaks where he didn’t score points, the no defense his entire career, and the bouts of pure laziness he’s exhibited, because he’s been decent in January.
What’s with this sub and praising Mitts today? Ya’ll just forgetting years of watching this kid play?
So you’re saying he should be great trade bait?
The difference in making the playoffs or not isn’t guys like Tage and Dahlin but Mittelstadt and Olofsson. If he can keep providing secondary scoring we’ll have a much better shot.
Watching him play, the kid seems to have turned a corner. I hope it continues and his play keeps improving. Maybe he was playing through an injury earlier in the year and it healed up over the break?
tRaDe HiM!!
LFG MITTELSTADT REVENGE TOUR COMING YOUR WAY
I’ve been saying all year that Mitts has been having a breakout season. He’s more productive, stronger and smarter with the puck, and looks like he belongs. A certain section of the fan base remember him as this potential offensive dynamo we took 7th overall but he’s evolved into a different player.
I am still skeptical if Mitts can find a spot on the team long term. He seems to always be slightly behind the speed of the game at 5v5. Maybe he is turning a corner on that? It’s hard to say.
However last night he looked much better playing the wing with Krebs and Quinn and not trying to drive play as a center. If he has some linemates to shelter him a bit he can have a positive impact.
But my issue has always been we need an upgrade over Olofsson or Mittelstadt. We cannot shelter both of them in the middle 6 for the benefit they bring to the powerplay. Cozens and Peterka got killed last night trying to carry Olofsson, and the night before that they tried Mittelstadt with Thompson and that didn’t work either.
I’ll admit he’s been playing quite well, but for him to be good he can’t be the Center, he’s not gonna be the guy driving the play either, he’s more of a complementary wing and that’s fine. My only concern is that he’s had stretches of good play and then he just goes back to pumpkin, I hope that doesn’t happen but it’s not like he hasn’t done that before.
I’m hopeful he’s able to keep up his current level of play. If so, it’ll be great for our long-term success.
trade him now while his stock is high
He’s been crushing my eye test since before the year change but some people seem committed to despising him for not doing a pull-up
