Jeff Paterson on Canucks starting Silovs, sitting Schenn, Demko's work load, Kuzmenko & Tocchet

Jeff Paterson gives us his take on Artus Silovs’ start against the Rangers, the notion of sitting out Luke Schenn, what Thatcher Demko’s workload should like once he returns, and if Rick Tocchet’s ‘tough love’ approach has really made an impact or not on Andrei Kuzmenko.

  1. Doesn’t seem wise for Silovs’ development to throw him in with zero NHL minutes..not even in practice. Especially with little support in front of him.

  2. The Canucks need to see how this goalie does in the NHL. So Patterson thinks in a crazy way. Throw a guy in see what he can do

  3. Great work guys. Are we going to see the canucks mgmt get ahead of the deadline, again, by moving on a schenn trade this weekend / early next week?

  4. Hopefully they tank get into top 3 top picks at least and move up for Bedard and trade next years no.1 pick to to make it happen to get the hometown franchise player

  5. couldnt help but chuckle at the arizona and nucks being tied in points talk, this season has been nothing short of a cluster _ and honestly just gotta sit back and laugh now. its fun to watch this tirefire burn.

  6. I have no issue sitting Schenn for a game or two. I'm not sure what OEL's long term status is but this has been a disastrously awful season, and there've been so many injuries that have been season ending or season "ruining" (if thats a term) Mikheyev, Pearson, Poolman, and looks like whatever the issue is with Travis Dermott has ruined his season for sure. I assume others are done as well, Lockwood, Lane Peterson and I guess we can include Demko even if he's coming back his season was a mess and with it the Canucks season as well. Its been pretty bad Schenn getting injured is always a possibility sit him 1 or 2 games…

  7. DiPietro ‘got a bit big for his britches.’ Seriously? So he took an attitude problem back with him. Riiiiiight.
