Sabres or Red Wings: Which Young Team Has the Brighter Future?

This video is all about the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings. Both of these NHL franchises happen to be coming out of their rebuilds at the exact same time, are both pushing for a playoff spot this year, and are in the same division as well. But which of these squads has the brighter future?

  1. Yes Larkin will resign. He is and will be cap. Idk why people don't get that. In yzerman we trust.

  2. Sabres wonā€™t go anywhere with the soft players / program they have now. Without some ā€œtoughā€ players who donā€™t mind hitting itā€™ll be a few more yearsā€¦ā€¦

  3. The brighter future are going to Red wings for sure, and the major reason being the whole staff of the organization, from Owner to GM, Coach, Ass and alllll the way down to their scouting ability world wide.

Sabers has a young and even an great team and are a few years ahead of RW on rebuilding from the past. Don Granato has done a fantastic job with this young team and taken them to the next level for sure. Hope he stays in their organization for a long time, because the big flaw is probably the Sabers' organization here. In terms of talent, the Sabers have a few more names today, but it's not so strange since it has been rebuilt for what 20 years now šŸ˜‰ .

As a hard core RW fan, I like what I see from both teams even though RW today is not quite competing at the same level yet. RW is starting to get things together, but this is not the year to do it, we need a little more time to build up our pool and call in some vets for the future. In terms of material on ice, the Sabers are a more solid team on that point for sure.
I bet 1EU that RW win SC first tho…

  4. They're gonna have a pretty good rivalry going in a few years. It's difficult to prognosticate right now, you never know what's coming down the pike.

  5. Yzerman is building a team based off of team chemistry! We have improved our two-way game so much and the goals are coming. Larkin, Bertuzzi, Kubalik, Raymond, Zadina, and Vrana are all amazing forwards who are playing better and better every game. Buffalo doesn't have the defense we have either. I am 52, I have played the game my entire life from pee-wee on, I have been a Wings fan my entire life and I have never been more excited for my team as I am right now! In another season or 2, we will be making the playoff's every season like we used to!

  6. I think talent wise you could lean towards Buffalo, but I really see Detroit being the team that will actually win the most. Management is a huge factor in team success and the Red Wings have some of the best scouts, coaches, management you can find. Yzerman knows specifically what a cup winning team looks like, it might not be the prettiest with a MacKinnon or McDavid, but will have chemistry in all four lines and be able to produce in tough times.

  7. On paper sabres have deeper pure talent but wings gm and organization is head and shoulders better which tips the scales towards wings have a brighter future

  8. If all the sabers prospects turn out they are going to be the new powerhouse of the nhl. What they currently have in the system is absurd, and Iā€™m a wings fan. The wings are lacking in dynamic superstar caliber offensive talent.

Iā€™m excited the team is making a push this year, but wonder if it is not in our best interest to have gotten into the top 5 and had a shot at this years crop of centers

  9. Besides having Yzerman Detroit also have Lidstrƶm and kronwall in player development. Also waiting to see how the Redwood Line turns out.

  10. Two teams built in opposite ways. Buffalo built around offense and Detroit defense. Buffalo's offensive prospects may overpower Detroit's defensive prospects, but way too early to tell. Goalie play and team chemistry will be the deciding factors.
