  1. It’s madness to think a player would sacrifice his/her own knee in a knee on knee collision. It’s a reactionary play whereby the player braces for contact by taking a wide, seated position – feet forward. As the oncoming player shifts, the instinct is to throw out a limb to stop them. There are no guarantees the hitter doesn’t take the worst of it.

  2. Kane's issue is not with his hip. It's with his line mates. He has been playing through this injury for a few years. He had no problem keeping up his numbers, in spite of it–until this year. The only difference is that Alex DeBrincat is gone, and he has been playing with a bunch of guys who can't do the things Alex DeBrincat can do. Like handle Kane's passes, and then put them in the net. Most of Kane's points came from assists. Hard to get those when the guy you to whom you pass the puck constantly misses the goal. Or, defers to you, instead of shooting at a wide-open net.

  3. The crazy thing is that an official skates right up behind him and ushers him to the locker room. "No proof"? Maybe ask the official? It's so hard to be a hockey fan sometimes, gross.

  4. ulf samuelson on cam neely is a prime exanple of kneeing now days payers are much more fit and faster that i can see kneeing being even more dangerous

  5. I have no idea about Heureux but glad he is not associated with any teams. I'm sure somebody had it on their cell phone if nothing else. I seen a camera lens break sticking thru the glass in those gaps they have for them in NHL game recently. Mike Milbury would have just taken his shoe off to beat some sense into the fan. Bellows can't even make it on the Flyers he might want to check into a new spot. I'll take him on the Kings over Byfield at least he plays with an Edge for the 2 Goals he might Score or 5 in a year hehe. Good thing he didn't say the wrong word they would have suspended him 50 games. He didn't make the wrong gesture so I guess its fine to stick somebody in the crowd. Maybe they will grow up to learn to stay silent at hockey games ;).

  6. Harris was a tremendous defenseman at Northeastern University and they really miss him this year, although they're starting to play much better lately behind the great play of Devon Levi in net.

  7. Minnesota's team defense and goaltending have been pretty good (tho not the last 2 games everything is falling apart as the team loses confidence), but with no scoring the defense has to be better than good, they have to be perfect. Kaprizov, Zuccarello, Ek, and Boldy have been good, Spurgeon has been a decent producer from the blue line, but no one else on this team can be trusted to score. I didn't expect the Wild to be great, thought they might even be bad, but after a few months of good play I thought they had found a way to win with this roster. These last few games have been their worst all season and their biggest fault has been a complete lack of scoring depth. The middle six look completely hopeless and I think we've seen enough at this point where the Wild should move some of them for whatever they can get. Addition by subtraction, open up roster spots for the young guys or anybody who will actually do something bc this is just pitiful. Either that or this is the beginning of the tank, that's cool too, the Wild could use higher draft picks considering their cap situation over the next two years.

  8. every 3.37 months he got suspended on average. That's BAD lol…
And people think Marchy is bad lol

  9. Sounds like this kid got into hockey just to be able to beat the shit out of people quite frankly. We love fighting in hockey kid. Throw it on your gloves and spar up like a man.

  10. Tarasenko is much better fit…3 years younger and Bigger…Likewise has a Stanley cup pedigree and performed well in the cup run…Rounds out our top 6 with a good scoring depth piece…We still hold a first round pick this draft….Gave up a 4th liner and a low level prospect…Kept all our young assets and top prospects…All upside here…This team is constructed to win in the next 3 years…He fits that window perfectly!!

  11. I agree – If a player is guilty of kneeing or a headshot and he gets fined, it should come with an automatic suspension.

Kneeing ending careers? See: Samuelsson, Ulf.

  12. Can't resist to add my 2 cents on the Kane vs. Tarasenko debate. On the surface, looking at all the comparable factors, they are the same "fit" IMO. The key factor IMO is the NYR are in salary cap hell ( as usual ) & can only look at rental options. They have to sign Chytil & Miller next yr & they are both the most improved players on the team so it only makes it more difficult for the org. And finally does anyone think that the NYR could have gotten Kane for what they gave STL ? I doubt it & I would be shocked if Drury didn't ask CHI what they would want for him IF Kane decided he wanted to be traded. Kane"s indecision probably added to the NYR taking the least cost option now instead of waiting a few more weeks when that cost might have gone up for either player only because of the deadline pressure & playoff team bidding war. Mikkola may also be the silent key as the shutdown 3rd pair D or depth 7th D which they probably weren't going to get from CHI.

  13. The qmjhl has been questionable on this for sure. I also wanna hear mooseheads fans about this, cause as a gatineau fan, it happened, and it sucks.

  14. Even though there is a buzz around the NYR after this deal, NYR fans ( esp. longtimers like me ) know that history suggests that moves like this end up being disappointments & the salary cap predicament could be a minefield that causes Drury to "blow up" no matter what he does. I don't envy him at all cause the odds for success are not in his favor & if it is possible, he might have too many good players to choose from but depth is not necessarily solid. Can't even rule out that he pushes ALL the chips in & makes a surprise deal involving a lot of young prospects ( even some who are on the roster atm ) to get a Kane or Meier or …. I sincerely HOPE NOT

  15. the mn wild have been a round 1 play off exit team for a long long time. they need to build a bit. you have 1 year with kiril after buy out hell to convince him to stay in minnesota. everything should be about that year and building a cup team for that year.

  16. I wish MN would just embrace the suck… our prospect pool is stacked. 3 years of good high draft pick, let the young kids play and grow, find out who is gonna be your core and then go for broke when that buy out comes off the books and you have prospect capital to make big moves. Gonna be a long road, but being aggressively average and first round bounces is just as bad imo

  17. Regarding the wild…

My high school physics teacher would say "!GNAB" was the sound an implosion made.

!GNAB Is what this feels like. Don't piss Kaprizov off. What ever you do don't make him feel like he is wasting his time here. Burn it to the ground fast, or prove you are trying to go for it all.

  18. This should simply be a till the playoffs suspension + a Nashville "wake the ** up " call . End of story. I'm actually on the kids side. Do the crime , do the time type of deal and don't let this affect the team and let it be handled from the inside.

  19. Tarasenko's a great fit. The Rangers love guys who wear those giant fuckin CCM buckies

  20. Yeah I think kneeing should be automatic 10 and multiple game suspension. But in general I think the league needs to have much harsher penalties for suspensions than the shitty little fines they pay now.

  21. Hmm – if i was another team having tried to pick up Kane….would i now think, oh the dude is so upset, he doesn't get to be a ranger, he won't be as motivated playing for my team ?
A player saying he is sad, that a team traded for another guy ? Weird 🙂

  22. I wonder how many of the 27 months were during Covid when games weren't played.
Subtract those months and it would be 8 times in…fewer months.

  23. As a Minnesota fan, really missing that Fiala guy right about now. Personally, I kind of feel like Minnesota's playing above their potential and ilhave kind of come back down to earth. We might as well buckle in, because with our cap situation, the next two seasons are going to be more of the same until we can get past the Parise and Suter buyouts

  24. Why haven’t the Q & CHL outright banned L'Heureux, at this point? He’s officially been suspended, so that makes 9 times in roughly 2 years. He really seems like an “above the law” type of immature teen. Junior hockey is not a right, it’s a privilege and I think Shannon’s right. I think the Preds will have their 2 cents, as well.

  25. I have watched alot of junior hockey. If you want a player to compare Zachary L'Heureux to its Zac Rinaldo. Both are talented but extremely dirty players who seem to have little concern about the health of others. However they are both in demand by teams.

  26. I agree that there should be a suspension, when it comes to knee on knee, and hits to the head. Problem is, it's hard to tell sometimes whether or not it's an accidental contact, or intentional contact. It's a bad arguement, but, the NHL is sure to use that as an excuse, to do nothing about it.

  27. Players that had career years last season for the Wild regressed. I know the rest of the league is tired of the cap excuses, but the Wild will have $14 million less to spend than other teams the next two years. That's worth a Kevin Fiala + a good center in FA which could've helped solve their 5 on 5 offensive woes.

I think its time to get worse before things get better. The young talent in the pipeline is the future, not Greenway, Foligno, Dumba, Hartman, etc.

I'm hoping to see some of the vets traded and the young players from Iowa called up. The team is going into hibernation. Wake us up in the offseason 28 months from now 🙁

  28. My comment on Kane was pretty much the exact same as yours. The man is sad that a team he wanted to go to make a trade, but he never outright said he wants to be traded, nor mentioned the Rangers. Like YOU are in charge, Kane. Why don't YOU make the decision? It's your own fault.

  29. tbh having a player go through a physical with the other teams doctor should be mandatory when trading anyone on a 1 way contract imo

  30. l’hearaux or however you spell his name we went and watched the moosheads he tripped a guy and then while he’s on the ice he spears him in the ribs so when my fiancé told me about this it did not surprise me. the refs in this game got the double call but not the right call lmao. in the game we went to they called hooking and slashing should have been tripping and spearing but
