  1. I don't think this was an embarrassing loss. You have to tip your hat to kane, Sammy shouldn't have started today since he just got rid of the flu. Anyway congrats rielly on 400 points and good job cookie on your first goal as a leaf.

  2. The back end defence & goaltending gotta improve come April when it counts or 1st round exit.

  3. The boys looked flat tonight. No jump at all. Unlike the other ugly losses this season I dont think tonight was an effort issue. Early start time on a back to back with travel. Honestly, I kinda expected this. The team just looked tired and emotionally drained. Rest up and get ready for Buffalo.

  4. LEAFS can not afford to lose to Bottom Dwelling Teams at this time of the season when another team is right on your ASS …Tampa has been losing games … LEAFS should be WINNING games to stay ahead of Tampa BUT its not the case …WIN to night would of put the LEAFS 5 points ahead of Tampa now only 3 points … 2 additions to the team this team should be a POWER HOUSE

  5. Lost to the worst placed team in the NHL. The D was not good in front of Sammy. Too many giveaways.

  6. I really thought we were gonna tie the game up beyond the 5 mins mark we had so many chances but again couldn't cash it in yeah we were sloppy at times tonight especially in that first 10 mins of the 1st period our passess weren't on point and just flat from the start Sammy had a bad game because he was still sick but still made some great saves so I'm not worried about this team our top 6 is still unbelievably good with O'Reilly on there. The boys need to regroup and beat Buffalo

  7. Samsonov should of never played tonight after being ill … Holl or Erik Källgren should of been in the net vs Hawks

  8. I'll say this. This loss, in a vacuum, I actually don't have much of a problem with. O'Reilly and Acciari both had 2 games in the last 2 nights, they still haven't gotten a proper practice in with the team, and it's obvious the chemistry isn't there yet. That's to be expected. It's also a back-to-back with travel on the road and an early start time. Being sleepy isn't unreasonable, if not unfortunate. Sammy's coming off of the flu. Clearly wasn't 100% yet and has a lot more to offer than that. Chicago was well rested and Kane clearly has a chip on his shoulder and wants to show off to the rest of the league, especially since Toronto was his #2 spot after NYR and they chose O'Reilly instead.

I get all that. Theoretically, as far as losses to bad teams are concerned, this one is probably the least embarrassing. Or at least is the most excusable.

    And frankly, I don't care.

Holl is atrocious. I don't understand why he's still in the top 6, let alone on the TOP FUCKING PAIR?? Morgan has been extremely hit or miss this entire season, and he's lucky he got two assists tonight or his performance would've arguably warranted a healthy scratch. Far too many giveaways, sloppy passes, and for god's sake, if you have to lose to a shit team, at LEAST ram them face first into the boards. Is it seriously too much to ask for an NHL team to fucking check? And considering that this is their, what, seventh loss? Eighth loss even? To the worst teams in the league?

Two losses to Arizona. Two to Montreal. One to Columbus. One to Anaheim (in overtime, but fucking cry me a river about it, the refs handed the Leafs that extra point). One to the Sharks. And now they lose to Chicago of all teams? I don't care how well Kane is playing, that does not excuse this team. He should not have gotten the hat trick – at least one of those goals came from a colossal fuck up by Morgan and Holl. For god's sake, ENOUGH. Only three players get a pass tonight, and that's O'Reilly (who is clearly tired and frankly needs time to fit into the lineup, Kyle had a point about spending time to see how it goes), Acciari cuz he scored a goal, and Sammy, cuz he was hung out to dry and coming off the flu. Everyone else – if I'm Keefe in that locker room, after this game, it's one simple message.

Not. Good. Enough. Nowhere NEAR good enough.

And if they lose home ice advantage to Tampa, and that costs them – I seriously hope Keefe informs them of that before the team is blown to hell.

  9. No You don't tip your hat to Kane, leafs lost on purpose and Sammy was playing for them.
    Couldn't stop a beachball

  10. Tavares / O'Rielly / Marner ………… ZERO CHEMISTRY …… ZERO FLOW ….. Keefe is terrible at figuring out chemstiry… here r your iines
    1) Jarnkrook / Tavaries / Marner
    2) Bunting / Matthews / Nylander
    3) Engvall / O'Relly / Kerfoot
    4) Reese / Kampf / Acciarri
THIS IS …. "STRENGTH DOWN THE MIDDLE" …. IF YOU DON'T GET IT …. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOCKEY
…. its not that difficult …. all u Millenials go cry to your X-Box in your moms basement next to your empty Amazon boxes, if you don't like these lines
take your rage out on yourselves …… not me or the world

  11. Congrats Leafs, you just lost to the worst team in the league. That's not an easy thing to do yet you guys found a way. First round exit incoming !!

  12. Yes it was an embrassing loss to a team they should have beaten easily like tb would have an Boston. Great teams don't lose to lesser teams that aren't making the playoffs.

  13. To be honest, I don't care how good one player is or isn't, this team has more than enough super stars on it that you should never lose to a leading Bedard draft lottery candidate even during a back-to-back. I knew within the first 2 minutes of the game we were going to lose. Just sloppy zone entries. Sloppy passes. Careless mental errors and turnovers. The whole works.

Also, Dubas should consider getting Kane too as insurance just in case Matthews or whoever decides to check out like they did tonight because I am not convinced yet. It's never a proud moment when a 34-year old on a terrible team makes your Hart winner in his prime look like a complete chump.

  14. Marner off the post at 3-3 was the difference…Chicago played well the leafs not so much, good win by Chicago…Kane always impressive when he wants to be. Someone will be Lucky to rent him for the playoffs.

  15. It's gotta be embarrassing. Lol. Your supposed to be a contender but can't beat teams that are not good. Lol

  16. Been saying it for years, send Morgan Rieilly anywhere but on this team. 0-17 in elimation games maybe a pattern.

  17. This Leafs team isn't going anywhere and they certainly aren't going to go past the first round. No matter who they add, they just aren't playing like they did the first couple months of the season. The soft schedule has proven anything but soft for this team. One and out again. Sad to say.

  18. They should of put in Woll for the third. You could tell
Samsonov’s head was not in it

  19. Mitch plays his heart out every game.
Imagine playing back to back games, Samsonov with the flu, and O’Reilly and Accieri joining a team and playing two nights in a row.
    Go easy on our lads.
    Love my Leafs 💙💙💙

  20. I get that teams get tired, especially on travel, back to back, fitting in new guys. What pisses me off is, after coming back to tie it after being down 2, you need some game management. Tie game, less than 10 left, you CAN'T get caught with 4 guys all way down low in the O-zone. They've done the same idiot thing 8 f**king times this year. Play smart, especially after tying a game where you're not dialled in or sharp. Don't cheat for offence. They would've got a point had they not been stupid. Notably, they all kinds of chances to win but couldn't finish. Tavares alone had 6-7 in-tight looks, missing or hitting the post, or the 'tender. Love O'Reilly & Acciari.

  21. Sammy is still injured didn’t look right all game and Keefe shouldn’t have played him. Murray still hurt. Dubas has to make some more moves IF he wants to keep his job. Round 1 exit coming soon. The only silver lining is when they fail again we won’t have Dubas or Keefe.

  22. Record's versus bottom 5 teams:

    Toronto Maple Leafs: 4-4-2
    Boston Bruins: 8-1-0
    Carolina Hurricanes: 6-1-2
    New Jersey Devils: 8-0-0
    Tampa Bay Lightning: 7-0-1

  23. Начали игру очень вяло, такое ощущение складывалось что команда не проснулась, а начала что то показывать на площадке в 3 периоде. Могли выиграть эту игру. Toronto maple Leafs forever👊👊👊👊👊👊👊

  24. зачем ты играешь, если ты болен. не твоя вина. ты хорошо выглядишь в этом костюме. рад видеть тебя бабочка

  25. They lost, they're going to lose sometimes. But here we are again losing to the worst team in the league, twice in 8 days. They blew a 2 goal lead vs Columbus last week at home. They seem to think they're so much better than everybody even after getting embarrassed and bounced 6 years in a row. They have a good thing going, but they're still the Leafs. Change your fkn goal song, by the way. You would think they would have left that goal song in the ditch after the Habs series
