ROR was very specific with JR that if it was his preference he wouldn’t have had to move, but he knows it’s a business. That said, he’ll have to decide what he wants in his next contract (money, location, winning, comfort, etc.)
I am a little nervous just because they said they let him *and his family* pick where they wanted to go. If it’s a 4 month rental gig that’s a lot less important, so it feels like they at least wanted to go somewhere an extension might be something he’d take.
Of course it could just be a business decision — giving him the option of an extension or coming back to STL is obviously a good thing for him and his family, or maybe just playing for the Leafs was a lifelong dream and he wanted to seize the opportunity. I’d definitely love to see ROR come back to the Blues for good given the right contract.
