I was there. I was chewing on my fingers and almost going into cardiac arrest whenever they went into our zone after the tying goal. I can rest easy now 🤣
My God, I don't wanna be overly negative but the Wings were annihilated in the 3rd and we won this game because of Husso. Lalonde has done a pretty good job with the team this year, but I hate the idea that he wants this team to play boring, ineffective hockey with all of the offense coming from some luck and very opportune moments. This team struggles to break 20 shots on goal. It's not winning hockey, in the long term.
Suter is severely underrated in the offensive end. He's not a pure goal scorer but he's definitely more gifted than most of the guys. He did really well at worlds with more minutes. I'd like to see him get more second line action .
One of the biggest things I do not like about Lalonde is he talks about "managing" games when they are tied. You can't manage a game when the score is even. That is treading water. Honestly Husso and Suter came up big in the shootout. Edmonton totally outplayed them for majority of the third. Tons of work and discipline to practice like protecting 2 goal leads and taking advantage of the other team cheating breaks to blow the lead open. There was no reason for that to get to OT. Overall obviously a good game but gotta be real and constructively improve your teams game instead of giving high praise for barely getting by.
Finally cashing in on the PP with 2 goals. Help getting these 2 points. Such a differant story if they hadht. Struggling some agaonst EDM to get pucks on net at even strength.
Big 2 points outa this one. Remeber this game folks. When Detroit are battling for a spot

The refs calling that penalty in the last 3 mins in the 3 rd. Absolutely ridiculous. But anyway PK was really good. Spdcial teams overall were good.

Shootouts should be removed from the Nhl, it doesn’t really show who was the best that day, very useless. Will see you guys again
