  1. the right season to have these problems. next year, byron, dadanov, drouin and monohan comeoff the cap, and farrell, kidney, mesar, beck, hutson and two first round picks this year will fight to make the team. potentially six young guys added to their core group. that's the beginning of a serious team. maybe even heineman, mysak, struble, beaudoin, kappanen make a challenge for a spot. the future is bright.

  2. Could be a mailbag question if it hasn't been asked before .. what would you put in your basket of favourites?

  3. They are going to play a team that is showing how a proper rebuild should be progressing. Younger and elite talent. They beat Montreal 5-1 before all those injuries hit.

  4. Question for the mailbag: Given the injuries and lack of production from the tradeable vets, I believe Hughes will look to add former first round picks (think JP or Kravtsov) in lieu of more 2023 1st round picks. Who else might they target around the league?

  5. Question for the mailbag: what would it take for the canadiens to acquire Nick Suzuki's brother Ryan and do you think the Habs should pursue this brotherly duo?!

  6. I have to laugh when Scott rhymes off all the players the Habs are missing, No Dach, No Evans No Caulfield, No Xhekaj, No Juraj Slafkovsky ( what SLAFKOVSKY—- In my Jim Mora PLAYOFFS VOICE) Habs are better without SLAF right now…. after all RHP is way way better…. Slaf was not a difference maker ( ps for those who come back and say cut him some slack he is just 18…. His pay check is not in 18 Year old dollars…. NHL is a performance league NOT a development league
