I think you could get Schenn for a decent price from Vancouver, he's a good back-up/low starter, he leads the NHL in hits, and he won 2 Stanley Cups just a couple years ago.

Guys , no one brings this up but Roslavic from Columbus? I’ve heard he’s available, he has 2 years and you can get Columbus to retain some ,,, he’s a versatile player who can play all 3 F positionss , and you’d have him for next year,,, what do you guys think?
I loved what the Avs did last yr…when they did it. But we still need another top 6 guy,my opinion. I say you go for Kane,if he will come here. You dont get many chances to repeat,& the west is deep with GOOD teams,but not with GREAT teams.
Taking the Avs out of it,you could argue the 5 or 6 best teams might be in the east.And if you make the Finals-you only have to beat the survivor of that East gauntlet. I do think theres like 10 good teams in the west,but the west might never agaiin be this devoid of very good or great teams….you gotta go for a return Finals trip,then who knows what happens.
And getting a guy of Kanes caliber not only instantly makes us better-but also means Dallas,Vegas,WPG,etc cant. If you put Kane on any of those teams-then they probably rise a half level,with him alone.Unless he goes East-NOT getting him is kinda a double whammy.
Yes it would screw their cap,& Karlson isnt good deffensively…but as bad as Edmonton is on the blue line-a past his prime Barie is their best offensive dman-to flat out say Karlson wouldnt make them better THIS YEAR…I dont see how you can say that.
That doesnt mean they should do it-its risky as hell,& he has glaring warts-but he certainly would make them more dangerous,especially if they arent heavily subtracting from the current roster. The dude is an extremely talented OFFENSIVE dman. Sandish Ozolinsh wasnt very good deffensively,but his offensive punch helped put the vintage Avs over the top. Different body types,but Id say those guys are similar strengths/weaknesses.
If I was an Oiler fan,Id rather a cheaper,& better deffensive type…Luke Shenn or somebody. But if you are just adding Karlson for picks,& prospects,he certainly increases your talent,& ceiling. Hes leading all dmen in pts on a horrific team. PP in Edmonton is already scary-of course hed make you have to respect the point-much more than Barie,Nurse,or Bouchard.
They should go for an established 2c if any. Top choice for me is Henrique, if they can get him from ANA. Please no Domi. He is another short guy plus he is like his father was, gets a ton of penalties – the Avs do not need that. If they should get just another forward not necessarily a center, get Athanasiou, he is very fast, fits the Avs style of playing plus he can score. And even if EJ won’t be available, THEY DO NOT NEED A D MAN! But in the end, the Avs might do nothing. They just beat the Oilers again plus lost only in OT against a completely healthy Lightning team.
They just need to get a top six forward (centerman or wing) and a dept D-man and they all set.
