  1. I'm jealous of Wings rn Sens have good advanced stats numbers for the most part and are still hanging around I guess but I'd much rather have bad ones and get lucky or whatever it is and be in that position

  2. Do a video about the LA Kings. Your expectations on how far they'll get in the playoffs, if they make it that is. And thoughts on their goaltending, what they should do

  3. You know, I suppose its not possible anymore, but I still feel that buying Vanek and trading him for beans was a major part of why Detroit started failing super bad after 2019.
    Consider it.
3 Million.. for less than one season and then traded away for one guy who played under 30 games and got NO points ( Dylan McIlrath ) and a draft pick that never played in the NHL and may never (Kasper Kotkansalo).

If Stevie lost Vrana to waivers, this would've been also a super blunder.
If they trade Larkin ( The ONLY consistent factor they've had since 2019) , I'm confirming that Steve Yzerman does NOT intent to win a stanley cup and is doing another rebuild.

  4. Was listening to the WWP and they did mention that while the Wings dont have those high end superstar forwards yet, but they do have the best bottom 6 in the league (made up of all middle 6 guys). When the top 6 is able to cancel the other teams top 6, it allows the Wings bottom 6 to eat other bottom 6s alive, like how Suter/Fabbri are on a tear right now. And imagine if Vrana gets going?
On a side note, this is really the first time all season the Wings are just about fully healthy.

  5. Funny stat I noticed during the game last night: Mantha has nearly triple the amount of games played as Vrana since the trade and they’re tied in goals (22)

  6. When do you think we can start talking about the Wings becoming buyers? I can't see Yzerman mortgaging too much of the future, but a couple of depth pieces could give these guys the boost they need to make it.

  7. I can’t believe the Panthers are still this high with PO% Although they are currently in a wild card spot, I think they will drop out as soon as the teams ranked lower played their games in hand.

  8. My expectation for this team before the season started was to compete for a playoff spot until the last few games of the season. This was with the expectation that the wings would have been healthier than they have been. So by that measurement so far they are exceeding my expectation due to the loss of talent over the first half of the season. This was also under the expectation that Ned would've not crumbled this season.

  9. My money is on the Sabres and red wings to make the playoffs over the caps, penguins and islanders. Florida is a lost cause since they played the most games in the nhl

  10. Kind of sad that they're going to make the playoffs in a draft year with 3-5 potential superstars. Oh well.

  11. Would be crazy if Buffalo and Detroit can both get into the postseason given their games remaining; it'd be a great step forward for these perennial tankers to make it

  12. Difficult opponents doesn't automatically mean you lose. Detroit lost to Seattle, Next game Seattle lost to San Jose. So I guess that means the Sharks are a play off contender! Nope. The Red Wings have to try to get points in those extra games. Even if they only force, or lose in O.T. Getting a single point against the Rangers or Tampa, can make a difference in Detroit making the play offs.

  13. Weird to see Detroit and Buffalo infront of Washington (and Florida) looking at their points %. Washington with Ovi will always be a top team in my mind even if they'd play with joe nhls only…

  14. i hope it happens. time for some fun, even if it's short lived. we probably weren't getting a high draft pick anyways. so let's go for it.

  15. Went to the Wings/Caps game last night. Great effort by the team. Husso, Seider, Suter, especially. Vrana getting some chances and showing some hustle. Caps are wounded right now with Ovie gone and Carlson still out, Oshie and Wilson probably not at full capacity although playing, so this game was an opportunity for the Wings and they grabbed it. Upcoming schedule is really rough, so glad Larkin only got fined for that hit on Oshie, b/c that was ugly, although I think also inadvertent. LGRW!

  16. The back to back against Ottawa is going to be a make or break for both teams.
Which is amazing for both teams. This time last year a back to back would have been played just for pride, not playoff positioning.

  17. Watch the Wings sweep the Bruins in the first round and go on to win the cup. That would be really funny

  18. Some that the percentage chances don't mention is that the Pens and Caps are both on a slide and are starting to show their decay. Also that Boston has been playing terrible in division, but has played the fewest inter-division games. I do think the Wings have a better chance then what was shown, but only around 30% to make it.

  19. A few things I've noticed: 1. New coach, new system. seem like nothing breeds success like success, so the team seems more committed to the type of game LaLonde is preaching. 2. Larkin seems to have jumped from a good 2C to a legit 1C (hope he stays). 3. Greater depth spread through the forward lines is leading to more 3rd and 4th line scoring. 4. More talent on the back end. Yzerman's revamping of the D has made significant improvements. 5. The growth of some of the players has offset the fall off of others. Berggren, Kubalik, Rasmussen, Suter, Velano play overall has been a plus which has offset Copp, Bertuzzi, Vrana and Chariot's aging or injury

  20. can you do the Vancouver Canucks next on there season as a Canucks fan its been a tough season that the Canucks have i what to see there stats on this i have only watched some of there games this year

  21. Eastern wildcard race is going to be nuts. We’re going to see a lot more of in conference games have that playoff intensity and I’m all for it. Especially since I think the Rangers are more than likely going to end up in the top 3 of the metro (I think 3) so I have zero investment in these games and can watch without stress. I hope the Wings make it in
