  1. I feel bad for Byron. The guy is a warrior. The injuries caught up with him.

  2. Paul Byron trade? Boooooring. I’d rather hear you talk about your cat. Where is he btw? Or is it a she?

  3. now this one makes sense. many teams are aon ltir, and all of them want more of it as it is the only way to acquire capspace at this point. *see weber v dado
monahan or jodro or dado can be packaged with byrons 3.4 and 50% retention and literally get a bit of cap space with the vet.
thats got to be worth some magic beans at least.

  4. Perhaps the Leafs could be a team that could take on Byron to free up cap space in order to obtain a defenceman ? As for what the Habs could get in return is another story.

  5. The Habs need a good Deadline performance. So far they have not advanced their Gilcig Core ™ nor have they added a key francophone player.

  6. No to Jesse Puljujarvi for Paul Byron straight up (to help Oilers cap situation for potential future trades). He's a bust … does almost nothing playing with 2 of the best hockey players in the NHL.

A draft pick would have to be included (maybe Edmonton's 2023 2nd round pick).

  7. If they move Byron they lose 3.4 mill in their LTIR pool, leaves 1.1 mill on their cap, all injured players not on LTIR plus their replacements count against the cap. Maybe I missed something in the video.

    Surprising performance vs Jersey.

  8. I suppose it's possible, given the bizarre rules of LTIR etc. I think Vegas goes for Kane if they can get a 3rd team involved to get the salary down. Sad that Habs have so many players tough to trade. Drouin, Hoffman, Dadonov, Gallagher, Dvorak, … One player I see leaving is David Savard. Leafs are offering Pierre Engvall and a prospect in return.
