  1. Great win by the Wings! The Capitals on the other hand…. tough game for them in front of the home crowd.

  2. Nobody will ever top Mickey as a color commentator, but Ozzie is sure getting good at it.

  3. Why wasn’t Wilson assessed a penalty after the play? He draws Wallman into a penalty and then what, a 3 on 4 pp for the wings?

  4. Pius Suter has missed 3 total games in his Red Wings career , THREE! Have to appreciate a player that is mostly a bottom six if not for injuries, maybe he gets moved with his recent goal performance, but he does so much more for this team as well. If he gets moved or not got to remember this player, reliable, hardworking, INVINCIBLE! again 3 missed games that's impressive.

  5. How many in the Red Wings roster have ever tasted playoff hockey? Not many!
So if they get to the playoff, and even if they only play 4 games it would be an important experience for the younglings.

  6. Every other North American sports league report standings in terms of "games back" rather than points. This system is more confusing, but it does well at compensating for cases like this where teams have played different numbers of games. By that system, the Red Wings would already be in playoff position.

  7. My worry is keeping this up. They are sitting in a good spot, especially when you look at NYI and FLA because of the games in hand, but they need to take care of business. The 2 OTT games next week and the NYI game will be big. OTT especially since they've struggled with them over the last few years.

  8. I'm revising my draft pick prediction.

I had originally said we'd be drafting either 13th or 14th, indicating a major improvement over last year but missing the Playoffs.

I am now thinking we'll be drafting somewhere between 15th and 18th, indicating a very good chance of making the Playoffs.

Currently two points behind Florida for the second Wild Card spot, but with FOUR GAMES IN HAND ON THE PANTHERS.

This means we're in great shape to make up points on many teams.

  9. The best part about last night is that T.J. Oh, shit! (as I call him since he's been such a thorn in our side throughout his career) couldn't stop us.

THIS SEASON BETTER NOT BE A FLUKE! The hype for next year is massive and we're ready to get back to being successful for a long time!

  10. If it would’ve been Ovechkin instead of Oshi getting accidentally hit he would’ve swan-dived and somersaulted four times and yelled “im dying!!!!!”

    No respect for fakers.

    Oshi, ok.
    He didn’t embellish TOO much.

  11. Two more strong defensemen and the Wings could win the Cup. I have to agree with RN, best play by play duo in ANY sport.

  12. It's so awesome to hear all the Red Wings fans in Washington! They were loud and proud tonight and you could see them spread out everywhere. Let's keep these wins coming boys!

  13. Thanks awood for the upload. What a game by the Red Wings! Sounded like there were a lot of Red Wings fans in attendance.

  14. The defense was stellar tonight. Husso, well, what can you say, that hasn't been said. Outstanding comes to mind. Larks got a bad wrap, but, shit happens. The Wings played harder after that.
This team is beginning to get it together. When did Vrana get back? Looks like a different man. He Played well tonight. I hope n pray he beat his demon. Keep it up kid!

  15. its really great seeing our secondary forwards putting up the points. suter, rasmussen, and more guys have been stepping up big time

  16. Husso is the difference this season hands down. Hopefully the Wings can get a back up to step up and play like he does.

  17. This game had a playoff vibe. I really like what I'm seeing from the Red Wings. Yzerman is working his magic and it's paying dividends on the ice.

  18. I love all these comments about how we only won becasue Ovechkin was out. You do know we beat the caps back in November when they had Ovechkin playing?

  19. Went to this game and glad I did. Great effort by the Wings, especially after Larkin ejected. Seider blocking and some really hard hits. Husso was clutch all night.

  20. This team is finally healthy and playing well! Guys stepping up and playing for one another, vrana might not get a point in his return but it was great to see him on the ice again, loved the effort he showed especially when he got back on D to stop the 2 on 1 early in the 3rd

  21. Thanks. I wanted to see the Larkin penalty. But geez, when I think of how he's been clobbered with no penalty called, it makes me shake my head.

  22. Great to have Vrana back. Thought the game misconduct call on Larkin was too much while watching the game but after seeing it again seems fair enough, at least he wasn't suspended.
