Here we go again
Please let it be for Kravy + 4th
In typical Brooks fashion, [he goes on to say](https://nypost.com/2023/02/22/rangers-eyeing-patrick-kane-before-nhl-trade-deadline/) the Rangers were never really *out* on Kane, in a hypothetical sense:
>The Post has learned, Rangers general manager Chris Drury is metaphorically saying, “Never say never.”
>
>According to sources, the Rangers have signaled they will try to make it work if Kane — who has yet to declare his intentions — is willing to waive his no-move clause in order to come to New York. We are told interest has not waned in the least since the acquisition of Vladimir Tarasenko from St. Louis on Feb. 10.
Immediate jersey purchase
Brooks: Maybe he will. Maybe he will not.
Please make it happen for a reasonable price
Here we go

Don’t worry about the defense I guess.
This is state media. The deal is going to get done.
We’ll either get him or let him go like Eichel.
Do we have to?
Krav and 2023 3rd and 2024 conditional 3rd. Chicago eats most of Kane’s remaining contract.

Zac Jones, Hajek and Kravy and a 3rd 😂
Just so that everyone’s not waiting at the edge of their seat, this isn’t something that’s going to happen soon, and it’s not going to happen without it being super telegraphed ahead of time*. Even if we trade Kravtsov and Leschyshyn at the deadline for Kane fully double-retained, we **do not** have enough cap space. That means we need to do something to get a bit more ahead of time. That’s probably waiving Leschyshyn and playing Krav before the deadline, but I guess Drury could cook something else up.
In theory trading all of Kravtsov, Harpur, and Leschyshyn would work, but I’m sure the Hawks wouldn’t be too pleased adding 2 extra contracts for 2/3 years for just straight-up bad players. I’m not in the know with what their plans are for those years, but they’re at 45/50 contracts now which is a pretty healthy cushion all things considered. We’d also be left with no 13F/7D, and would need to rely on emergency call-ups for the rest of the season in case of injury (I think, me might be able to fit in either an extra F or D after the TDL if all 3 guys go). In the playoffs that’s not an issue though.
*The caveat is that technically we could include almost any other current roster player and it’d work without jumping through hoops, but the only one that I’d even entertain the possibility of is Goodrow, which isn’t happening.
And just as an extra note, Drury had literally every opportunity to make this a lot easier to make work. Schneider could have been sent down on paper for a couple of non-game days here and there to bank additional cap space, or Hajek could have been waived earlier, or we could have asked OTT to retain 10% of Motte’s salary, etc. The fact that he didn’t is interesting at the very least, assuming his management of the cap the way he has is intentional.
Guys so I’m a die hard ranger fan, I’ve watched pretty much every game for the last 12 years when I got into hockey. Ever since I went to college I stopped keeping up with players around the league as much. That being said is Kane still great? I get he’s 34
Now, but is he still a beast that can have a solid impact on this team?
Why do you want washed up Kane? A guy who bad mouths his own team. Even if you have issues, don’t shit on the hand. This is bad lockerroom juju.
My worry is this.. I remember the big trade for Eric Staal.. result was nothing. Are we one Patrick Kane away from a cup? I don’t know.. We have to beat Boston and Carolina.. is a trade to rent kane AND tarasenko worth what it’s going to cost? I honestly don’t think it will be… none of our players are consistent except Fox and Panarin. They just aren’t as elite as boston or carolina as it is.
Yeah this is definitely gonna happen
The click king
Let him force his way onto our roster and pay pennies on the dollar for an all time performer.
Your crazy if you don’t want him.
Can’t wait till this saga is over. It’s like the Eichel insanity all over again. When the Rangers drafted Othmann I was nervously sweating that he would be traded to the Sabres. Obviously that didnt happen. The real question is, do the Rangers NEED HIM, or WANT HIM?
Don’t want to risk the future and cant re-sign Chytil, Miller or Laf.
I’m kinda shocked at how low ppl are on kravstov. Dude was a top 10 pick and tore up the KHL. Kid never had a real spot on the rangers. If a rebuilding team plugs him consistently into the top 6 I think he can develop still.
They want Kane now because Taransenko is a stiff
Where does he fit though if he comes in? The only person in the top 3 lines you can really risk putting on the 4th line is Vesey, right?
No way in Hell Mika, Kreider, Panarin, Tarasenko, Trouchek, Chytil, Kakko, or Lafreniere drop down
I truly don’t get this fascination with him.
Thinking the Rangers leaked this on purpose to let Kane know they want him. This way Kane doesn’t expand his team list and the Rangers won’t have to bid.
