  1. YES!!!! I've been saying it for months. The Leafs CANNOT go into the playoffs with the goalies they have. Last night they needed 5 goals to win AGAINST Buffalo. You cannot win a single playoff series with a goalie who cannot steal a game that the team doesn't actually deserve to win. You cannot expect to score 5 times against Tampa or Boston. You need a goalie who can say, "If we score 3 goals, we will win the game." None of Toronto's goalies can say that. I love O'Reilly, but if they'd traded that first round pick for a goalie, I'd be happier. They have a little bit of cap space right now and that's what I'd use it for. No matter how good the skaters are, they won't get out of the first round with either Murray or Samsonov as their starter. Not gonna happen.

  2. If Matt Murray is trade I am going be sad I was hoping he would bounce back be amazing have a monster year win the best goalie of the year award I can’t spell it

  3. BREAKING: Toronto has traded Matt Murray and a 2nd round pick to Colorado for Pavel Francouz

  4. Naw u keep matt murray he has been playinv good when not injured and who knows he could be gr8 in playoffs and what we need

  5. Matt murray is a 2X cup champ. Let him play and start him in the playoffs. He is the real deal but injury prone. He is a star goalie only weakness is the glove hand. Im a fan of samsonov, the problem with him is he always lets in a unexpected goal at the wrong time. I watched him in the playoffs was vs bos and i cant get ovechkin screaming at him in the game out of my head. If leafs lose vs tbl it will be samsonov and the d not stopping heavy shifts. Leafs have been tested only by the west and they run over our d.

  6. I feel like they should trade him so they could keep O'reilly we already have a good starter

  7. Murray has been injury prone for the past 4 years, that's the consistent theme in his career right now, good goalie when healthy but clearly his resume is showing that he will not be.

  8. Bring in James Reimer and Erik Karlsson. Move Murray, Holl, and 2 top prospects. Make San Jose retain anything of Karlsson so that adding him and Reimer is possible. But I'm sure San Jose will expect far too much based on their reputation lately in the news.

  9. Would be smarter for the Leafs to bolster their blue line. Adding a couple tough/physical dmen who can pass would help take the load off their goalies.

  10. Can't believe some commenters think Murray is the way to go. Against TB and Boston?! Good luck. BTW, 3 bad goals for Samsonov in Buff. If he gets injured Leafs chances are next to nil and not much better if he's playing. Leafs look great up front but they badly need goalie insurance and Murray ain't it.

  11. Its not the goalies in playoff time, its how Marner is gonna cost us big games again or if he can do the opposite if he learned anything.

  12. even if Murray is healthy i do NOT trust him in the playoffs. not unless the leafs play him as the starter in the remaining games and he proves he can save the puck. and i love murray thought it was a great signing. but lets be real.

  13. The real gem is Joe Brick Woll. Despite lacking NHL experience he is the Leafs most talented goaltender and has put up solid numbers in every league he has played in. Woll and Oettinger were the top U.S goaltenders playing together at the WJC a few years ago. Trade Murray and get Woller ready for playoffs.

  14. I dont think Sammy is 100% so why not rest him and give Woll a shot and see what happens? Woll looked really solid the other day. All the focus is on the new forwards, anyway.

  15. Love this show but these guys are so negative…keep saying negative BS over and over and people will start believing you….goalies get hurt…players get hurt…these guys are just trying to sell their show with BS…it annoys me but I like them

  16. We need to fire Dubas and hire Burke to bring in quality players like he did when he brought in Kessel Phaneuf, JVR , Gardiner,

  17. A healthy Matt Murray is pretty good, an injured Matt Murray (which is the usual case ) not so good. Samsonov IMO is at best a third line goalie who is fundamentally unsound (does he understand how to play angles?). Either the Leafs get a decent, maybe veteran Goalie or Woll pulls off a Dryden. Personally I do not have faith in Murray staying healthy and Samsonov is not good

  18. As long as he doesn't start against the Sens or Pens he'll be 50% effective. Course there's only a 10% chance of that.

  19. All I was saying to people when I said Dubas made a stupid move with goalies was that we are perfectly likely to end up in this exact situation.

It seemed like insane thing to gamble so heavily with goalie who is constantly hurt in such an important season.

The ROR trade was great. The goalie situation is very worrisome.

  20. If they can dump Murray I'm all for it. Use the $$ and add big. Another bottom 6 FW (bye bye Engvall) and a big D-man.

  21. Everyone is always incredible harsh on the goalies. Not just for the leafs but for all the NHL. I would argue that the players are evolving faster than the goalies can, so we're seeing more goals per game than the last 20ish years. It's probably doesn't inspire development and make younger players want to play goalie when 1 missed block causes a whole "They need to trade this goalie what is his problem if he can't stop this snipe from McDavid/ Matthews/ Crosby/ Ovechkin". Murray and Samsonov have had some off games but overall I haven't had the feelings of the last few seasons with the goaltending for the leafs. Let things play out. Buff up the blue line. And watch them win.

  22. Murray is injured constantly, but Samsonov Woll as a tandem seems fine. Regardless none of the like seven clear upgrades will be available so no real reason to try and get a goalie.
