Impressed as heck with #16!!!
Although the Islanders played the most games in the NHL, they won another key game to stay in a wildcard spot and the teams behind still have to win their games in hand.
Playing positionally smart hockey is what they did with Trotz. Keep it up because it works with this roster.

HELLO Gil. At least its a win. All you can do is win your games. Can't worry about those games in hand other teams all have. And isles look like they want one of those w c spots. On the trade front kane is being a little b** and whining to get traded to the rags so f him. Hawks may be stuck with no trade. Blues with all of that draft capital from their deals are in hot pursuit of meier as is nj, la, and canes. Chychrun, la/oil in pursuit. Karlsson-oil have heavy interest. No other isle news outside of the jpg/mayfield rumours of two days ago. So yes i can see lou stand pat (maybe a cheap depth d man). And vgk unloaded webber's ltir contract to az. to free up cap space for a deal and have more ltir room with stone. Word is vgk are after kane as well. And a goalie. So what befuddles me is why isn't lou on the phone with vgk trying to make a varly deal? Should have vgk take bailey as well since they are the team in need. That is assinine not to even contemplate a varly deal with a goalie needy team since he is ufa and is isles best trade chip and at least can get a first back in a deal. vgk are an impulsive team that wants to win now and they operate like no cap exists. That is the deal that should be made. A two-goalie system means nothing in playoffs when facing either b's or canes in first round exit since both can defend. I can see lou keeping mayfield thinking he can sign him to a good deal. But i doubt he takes a discount deal this time. Parise probably has no tdl value once again. jpg's name has been thrown out there yet unlikely lou moves him. Its just sad to look around the nhl at tdl time and see all these teams like la who have prospects galore or nj who has completed their re-build and have ammo to make deals as isles sit on the sideline. Meanwhile isles are gonna be shit out of luck battling for the basement of east soon with old teams like pens who have no system too and caps as well. Pens are the wings of 10 years ago. Just good enough (maybe) to make the playoffs yet not a threat anymore before the wheels fall completely off big time. Ugly times are coming for isles too. Good show.
Fun to watch but a day late and a dollar short
Every loser that doesn’t produce they call up. (Koivula, DueranaJerkoff). They have no production Holmstrom 33 games has only 5 points. They put Martin on line 1. While their most skilled and offensively talented forward IShkakov rots in the AHL. The isles are a cup cake organization.
“It is the right thing to do BUT” Lou doesn’t do the right thing. He does the wrong thing and sets the organization back 5 years because this roster isn’t winning a cup EVER. They suck.
The Josh Bailey injury is a positive for the team. Bailey sucks.
I love my team, but we’re not winning a Stanley cup. We need to sell at the deadline. Varly, Mayfield, Nelson, JG, Bailey, I can go on and on. Get some draft capital. Get rid of these old dudes. I doubt the dinosaur will do that tho.

Love the kid bit lose the number—-should be retired Gil-he’s one of our all time greats although he never won a Cup! ——-I’ve been preaching play the kids all year and by default—-had no choice but to play them! It’s not about having grade A prospects right now—-it’s about speed, hunger and passion these kids play with! They want to stay with the big club! Gotta get rid of dead weight—-killing this team. However—-the grit and sandpaper lately is how we advanced in the past—-the kids have saved our eggs——Sorokin has saved our bacon. Barzie? Miss him but he will be back—-his injury was the rallying cry like pajama boy leaving——-Lee getting hurt—-they simply need this and it’s part of their make up——rally cry.
