  1. There are still Drouin believers out there….this year so far…. 0 Goals. He is a goal scorer that doesn't score goals. Some people will get mad at me for pointing out facts.

  2. Try Trading him at 50% retained, if any team wants to take him, then just sell him for whatever you can get. If not just let him leave, i’d be shocked if a team would trade for him but there’s no reason to sign him.

  3. His contact is kind of a curse for jo. Hear me out if he makes 1 mil less he could have easily been traded to Colorado along with lekky

  4. He needs a fresh start on a team that's not rebuilding. Pity it didn't work out for him as well as he and we all wanted. Best of luck to him

  5. Always gonna be a painful trade memory for habs fans. We have to look at it now like we traded sergachev for cap space starting next year. Lesson here- don’t force things for reasons such as wanting French players or drafting by positional need in the first round (kk)

  6. He needs a fresh start. Its going to take alot for Montreal to give away Jonathan Drouin in a trade in return for something that doesn't have alot of value. The best option is to wait until July when he hits free agency.

  7. I’d take Drouin over Gallagher and Anderson 9 times out of 10 super talented and habs need to keep him, resigning him for 2.2M a year for 2 years is a good risk to take

  8. To me Drouin needs to go to a low market where hockey and their players are not in the media everyday . If he is not offered a NHL contract not saying he will or won't be maybe signing a 1 -2 your contract in a Europe league and work his way back. Hope to see him join a NHL club but any market like Montreal would be best for him to stay away from he needs to go to a team where there is less pressure to perform

  9. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out that this guys a head case by now.
Just like Galchenyuk & Daigle we’re.
Some just can’t handle the pressure. Happens all the time.
He ain’t worth much. You take what you can get for him and move on.

  10. I could see Drouin flourishing in Arizona. Low expectations, plenty of sunshine, chance to reset, PP opportunity, little pressure from media

  11. Let's put it this way: If Drouin was playing for another team and the Habs had a possibility to take him as a free agent, you can be sure they would. I'd sign Drouin on a year per year contract, no strings attached if possible. I am still convinced that under these conditions, with a bit of a lower salary, he would be a great deal. Maybe play him less often and optimize his game time on the power play etc.. some good young players are coming up next year and the Habs will need stability and at the same time, enough quality veterans to feed these youngsters with quality passes and hockey IQ. Wake up guys, Drouin is exactly that!

  12. Drouin needs out of Mtl. He can help a team he reads the game ok good passer. Drouin wants out of Mtl that is the truth. Needs a new start out of the spotlights

  13. Let's see the big picture here. It is becoming more and more a habit for managers to trade away players on the tail end of their contracts so that they can get something in return. Montreal is a pressure cooker for JD, and it would have been less of a burden if he would have signed a smaller contract. Like 3 million for 3 years. I don't even look at players stats of players who are at the last leg of their contract. Because they always play hard, so that their value goes up for the next signing. It's time to let him go. He will do really well in another team.

  14. lets face it Drouin never lived up to the expectations placed on him. when Bergevin traded Sergachev for him and pronounced him as the next Great French Canadian Player it was a joke…as a French player he was treated as a hero all his life and had an easy ride….he was over termed and overpaid…lets face it he could not stand the pressure of being an NHL player… he needs out of Montreal but will he ever get better, probably not….he is just a player who could not take his junior success and take it into the NHL…he was giving every chance to succeed, on the PP, overtime and shootouts but does not play to the level he should….why did Stevie Y get rid of him , because he was and still is a problem child…. he plays a few good games and then disappears and zero goals this year shows his career is just about over..maybe time for him to go over to Europe as NA career is pretty well over
