One of the best all time acquisitions chevy has ever done. Gonna be a fan favorite player. I can’t express how huge this is for us.
I tentatively love this trade depending on what we gave up. Nino is basically poor man’s Meier. Large, physical possession positive forward who plays both wings. Acquisition cost should be a fraction of what Meier would have been, and doesn’t rule out adding both.
EDIT: I was getting roasted for this comment in r/hockey so I did some research to back up my claim.
Both are physical, possession positive wingers who play both sides.

18g, 10a, 28 pts
Per 60 at 5v5 : 1.2g, 0.6a, 1.7p
Corsi rel, 5v5: 4.8
XG: +2.5
Meier’s stats this year:
31g, 21a, 52p
Per 60 at 5v5: 1.2g, 0.8a, 2.0p
Corsi rel, 5v5: +7.4
xG: +6.3
Meier is *obviously* the better player but when you adjust for ice time and teammates they’re closer than you think. They’re also both Swiss.

Preds fan: Nino has been one of the lone bright spots on this team. It’s probably smart to note that the Preds play a grind it out style that focuses on the forecheck and high-percentage shots/tips from the slot. I believe that’s similar to y’all in a sense. Also note that our system is completely broken and we absolutely suck.
Nino has looked great. 18 goals (2nd highest scorer) in 56 games. He’s big but he has skill. Excellent in front of net and a lot of his goals are tip or rebounds. He’s a stellar 3rd liner or a serviceable 2nd liner if they like to grind a bit.

That’s amazing. He can replace Perfetti and whenever he’s back he can fit perfectly on the 2nd line. Amazing deal Chevy. (no one can ever replace Perfetti tho)
