The Recent Struggles of the Tampa Bay Lightning

The Bolts are still third in their division and have time to get things in order before the playoffs start. It has been a troubling record for them recently, though.

  1. Shannon trying to reverse jinx Tampa… He is clearly not cheering for a Battle of Ontario in the first round. 😢

  2. I knew this video was coming, we have been so bad. It’s a tough watch recently; Injuries, bad defense, poor puck management, etc. I hope they turn it around

  3. The majority of their players just won two cups. Wouldn't they just want to enjoy summer at this point and not have to go through the playoffs? I don't see why they would be hungry for another cup lol. After you've won the cup once I don't see why you would be eager for another.

  4. I'm a Bolts fan and… there are a few things at play here.
    1) I'm thinking three long runs have drained the physical and mental energy of this group.
    2) The loss of McD and Ruuta haven't been replaced as well as turnover has gone in the past. Perbix is a good young D-man, but still needs seasoning. I think Myers might be a decent depth option next year after spending most of this season playing for Groulx.
    3) I have…questions… about Blashill.
    4) And I truly hope this is not the case… some of these guys have played for Cooper for a decade now. Is a new voice needed?

  5. If they’re concerned about falling out of top 3 in their division the gap is way too wide between them and buffalo so I feel like they’re secure there. If they’re concerned about the product on the ice they’ll get it together come playoff time I feel like we’ve seen this too often to know they always get it together when they need to

  6. I was hoping you would make a video on this situation, watching now. Do you think you will make one about the recent surge of the Senators?

  7. They’ve gotta be tired. Elite athletes, yes, but still. They’ve played a lot of tough hockey in three years. Their summers have been very short.

  8. I didn’t think I would ever say this, but I think I’m actually going to be cheering for the Leafs in round 1.

  9. Dont let this act fool you come playoff time it's all in the rear view mirror. Hopefully I'm wrong cause I'm a leafs fan but still haha I'm not buying this

  10. It's all a strategy to make sure the Leafs are over confident going into the Playoffs…no something definitely off…never seen this team seem to completely loose faith in games and look defeated…up to veteran leaders to make it happen and change attitudes.

  11. I know his contract didn't fit anymore but I really think their blueline misses McDonagh, I don't really know if Tampa has that stay at home d-man at the moment

  12. McElHinney! I always assumed when Shannon or anyone in NHL talked about him that he was a Finnish guy. The way his name is said sounds awful close to Mäkeläinen.

  13. As a Habs/Bolts fan (2021 was fun, thanks for asking), I'm not feeling too worried despite the struggles. If any team can overcome adversity like this and make a deep run, the Lightning can do it. How far they'll go is up for debate because the Atlantic/Metro have gotten so good since 2020 (especially the Atlantic, every team but the Habs could qualify for a WC) but I still have faith they'll win the cup this year.
