As millennial this nearly brings a tear to my eye. I've been waiting my whole life to see an elite player in Buffalo. It's been such a roller coaster, loosing our core in Drury & Brier. Vanek was a good player but, he wasn't the elite player that his $10 million a year contract was paying for. In my hopes to get a real elite player I was regrettably pro-tank during the Eichel-McDavid draft and when Eichel didn't work out I gave up. I didn't plan on paying any attention to the Sabres anymore, I figured Granato and Adams would be more of the same carousel. As soon as I decide to give up, we start wining games and Tage Thompson decides to come out of nowhere. I don't even know what to think anymore, it feels like Tage Thompson isn't real and I'm just going to wake up. He's like one of those "build your own players" in a video game where you make the player as big as you can and then put all of there skill levels up to 99. It just doesn't seem real! And this character plays for the Sabres!
