  1. I see the same thing happening to the pens that happened to the Bruins under Cassidy. Boys club, playing favorites. And look where the Bs are at after just one season without Cassidy 👀

  2. I disagree, Dumo needs to be playing. He has had a bad season but has shown across his career that he is an excellent defenseman. The chances of this team going anywhere only includes a scenario where Dumo is playing at the level he is capable of and he isn't getting there on the bench. When Brian Dumoulin is on his game, he is a real problem for the opposing team, but because he is a purely defensive player you don't get to see the impact as much while watching on t.v. Seeing Dumo play live and the way the opposing coaches have to adjust their strategies when he is on the ice makes his impact on the game pretty evident. Dumo carried the defensive core for many years, maybe he is done, but at 31 I doubt it.Good players go through rough seasons and often times the real reasons for their struggling is hidden from the fans. Could be an injury, the pressure of an expiring contract, or could be something personal affecting his mental health and preparation. We don't know. But we know when he is on, he is a difference maker.

Now whether or not POJ should be playing over Kolikov is another story.

The Kolikov trade would have made more sense if there was another trade lined up. Which I think was the case and it fell through. They had much more pressing needs than a player of Kolikov's level at dman. They needed a LHD for sure, but could have found someone else cheaper and tried to pick up another bottom 6 guy to replace the lack of NHL talent they have there. Or you know, a NHL calibur back up goalie for when Jarry gets hurt again. DeSmith ain't it.

  3. yo DK…Do you think that often 'experts' including hockey experts like Coach Sully and Hextall can get really off base by being too close to the situation? Think too short term? Like the Dumo situation….Even a fan like me who knows sports but is certainly not a hockey genius can see that Dumo has been a drag for a long time who brings the whole team down , and that older skaters are slower skaters who reach w. their stick rather than move their feet..and become reluctant to hit..or fight if you have too…and defend. I think this team has too many old dudes and is reluctant to bring in young players or at least give the ones they have a real chance..This team needs a real boost of youth. Not players just trying to get through their last year or two of hockey..
