So uh….. is this another game vs Minnesota where they just play the neutral zone trap and we have no fuckin clue what to do?
Anyone ever watch Moose or Ice highlights and be like damn, I know the Jets are capable of playing this brand of solid hockey, but will they ever get back to it.

This is what the players like to call a “measuring stick contest” how far off are they from the wild when it comes to contending status. Minnesota 3rd in 4 nights off a grungy shoot out loss last night travelling overnight with old man in net vs team with double revenge opportunity and surprisingly all metrics in their favour. But Wheeler. What could go wrong?
Nonetheless I think 5-2 Jets. Huge 2 points with Calg really on the heels.
If Jets lose this, they fold all morale once again for whatever reasons ail them annually.

6-2 Wild. I’ve lost all hope after we blew a 2-1 lead with 10 seconds to go against a 30th place team. At this time of year, teams that lose games like that do not win championships.
I have faith that the boys will punch above their weight class tonight. They have a knack for matching whichever team they’re playing, and I have a feeling they’ll keep pace with the Wild.

Manitoba kicks off their seven-game road trip on the right skate. They are 9-1-0-1 in their last 11 games. It improves them to 31-17-3-3 and moves them one point back of 2nd place Milwaukee (and two back of 1st place Texas).

I’ve often felt “this is a game the Jets could lose”. Today, I’m thinking they’ll take this game over the Wild. It’s been a progression emerging from the slump, they played a solid game against sjs. They’re back this game.

Must win game, need the best lineup out there to take advantage of a tired Wild team. Who does Bowner apparently choose? Logan Stanley instead of Samberg, fucking lol
Looking forward t the Jets winning tonight, if only to shut up all the moaners in the sub (and their secondary accounts).
The most frustrating thing about the Jets Power Play is that the man advantage gives you the opportunity to out-skate your opponents. You can move more than them, because you can be (mostly) sure you’ll get a safe shift change during the power play. They cannot. So the more you move on the PP, the more tired the defense will get, and the more prone to mistakes they will be.
My fear with the PP1 is that they *plan* to play 1:30 shifts on the power play so they deliberately limit their skating. The only exceptions to this, as far as I can tell, are Nino, Morrissey, and Ehlers. But one of those is the defender and one has been oddly relegated to PP2. Sure, sometimes Connor and Scheif can Draisaitl a wicked shot past the netminder, but not often enough to justify this style.
Others have said it, but tonight is a must-win. Wild on a back-to-back where they got shut out by a goalie far inferior to Vezinabuck. They’d been on a hot streak lately and it seems to have fizzled out. Gives us an edge.
Losing in regulation tonight would make it incredibly difficult to make the playoffs.
I wonder where Byfuglien is now.
