I have lived and died with the Carolina Hurricanes for over 25 years. I know I’m supposed to hate Washington and Pittsburgh the most, and I do. I love Carolina the most. I love everything about them. I love that they replaced the Hartford Whalers. I love that they’re so good at drafting. I love Justin Williams’ unpenalized high stick that carved up Saku Koivu’s eyeball. I love their sick post-game celebrations. I love that their coach has a sick apostrophe in his name. I love the snarky extra $20 on Kotkaniemi’s contract. I love Svechnikov’s beautiful Michigans. I love that they have a whole forward line of guys with numbers in the 80’s. I love Rod The Bod. I love Brent Burns’ KitKat commercials. I love that the Staals always score against Montreal. In response to the OP’s question, Montreal, Montreal hurt him. As a long time fan of another Canadian team (which shall remain nameless), we have had to watch a beautiful team form here that likes its fans and wants to do well. Our teams up north can be cruel. Want to go to a game, that will be $150 a ticket and you will have to be on a waiting list. Want to feel like your team values your input, too bad, you were born into this and we know we have you for life. Want a team that sticks up for each other, nope! So sorry Randy, it was rigged from the start.
